From Press Release:
Austin, Texas, November 5, 2026 | Solo developer Nathan Dearth is excited to reveal multiplayer coming soon to the arcade snowboarding game, Tricky Madness. Starting December 17, players can carve up the mountain together in Jam Mode, competing solo, with friends locally, or against online opponents. Already earning a ‘Very Positive’ Steam rating with over 450 reviews, Tricky Madness continues to build momentum in Early Access. This update is free for anyone who owns the game.
Old School Tricks, New Thrills
Tricky Madness is a love letter to the beloved snowboarding games of the early 2000s. Fans of earlier arcade titles will feel at home in this refreshed take on the genre, with a familiar tricking system and iconic snowboarding moves, while still delivering polished gameplay, updated graphics, and modern system accessibility. Whether playing for extreme speed or points, it’s the ultimate arcade snowboarding experience fans have waited decades to replay.
Shred Together
In the latest update, players can share the slopes with up to eight friends — four of them locally. Local and online players can meet up in a mixed lobby and queue up to play with others. Smashing through buildings, riding in outer space, and making extreme jumps at unrealistic speeds is eight times the fun with friends. Multiplayer is the cherry on top of the arcade experience Tricky Madness was built to serve.
Let’s Jam!
The party doesn’t stop there! Jam Mode takes the multiplayer experience a step further with endless arcade action. Alone, with friends, or with strangers, drop into an endless play mode where you vote on which event to compete in and which course to tackle next. Jam Mode can be played solo or multiplayer, supporting split-screen, inviting Steam friends, and online matchmaking so players and their crew can get locked in for hours of replayable fun exploring, optimizing, and competing in this modern take on the cult classics.
Planned Full Release Features:
- Eight handcrafted standalone maps, each with hidden surprises and experiences. Four are available in Early Access.
- Multiplayer can support up to 4 players locally and 8 players total.
- Jam Mode lets players go solo, stay in their lobby, or queue up to play with others in an online match.
- A dedicated campaign mode set on an open-world mountain with secrets and collectibles. Ride down the entire mountain, seamlessly transitioning from map to map.
- Eight fully voiced characters, each with their own backstory, personality, and snowboarding tricks. Tess, Maya, Curtis and Ryan are playable in Early Access.
- A voiced in-game DJ commentator, hyping you up as you make your way through the game.
- Three exhilarating game modes to test your speed and skills, including freestyle, time trials, and races.
- An enhanced tricking points system encourages you to trick more often for speed boosts and unlocks Wicked Tricks and Grinds.
The multiplayer and Jam Mode update for Tricky Madness comes to Steam on December 17th. A full release is also planned for consoles. To keep up with all things Tricky Madness, check out their website, subreddit, Discord server, X, and YouTube channel.
