BOSTON, Massachusetts – April 9th, 2026 — Today, Crate Entertainment is proud to announce that the journey to the Farthest Frontier begins anew with the global release of patch v1.1! The celebrated medieval citybuilder now receives its first major post-release update, adding a host of new features and content to the base game, including the highly anticipated Gridless build mode for the pioneers who want more freedom as they craft their settlements. In addition, the free update introduces a Guided Journey to ease new players into their frontier adventures, a building management tool for quick management of multiple structures simultaneously, the ability to copy & paste building settings, and much more!

Speaking on last year’s launch and the journey to Update 1.1, CEO & Creative Director Arthur Bruno shared the following:

“Thanks to the tireless work of the Farthest Frontier team, we’re able to share this incredible update with building placement changes I wouldn’t have even thought feasible a year ago,” Bruno says. “The Gridless building system will provide more power than ever for players to customize the look of their towns; while the Guided Journey is our response to new players seeking more direction and goals early on. We’re excited to see how players react and the towns they’re able to craft with this new freedom.”
