BOSTON, Massachusetts – May 28th, 2026 — Today, Crate is excited to reveal that Fangs of Asterkarn, the third and final expansion to the highly acclaimed ARPG Grim Dawn, launches July 23rd, 2026, on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store.
Crate previously declared that Grim Dawn would not go out with a bang, but “with a tremendous roar,” and Fangs of Asterkarn does just that. Fangs is a bold exclamation, punctuating the ARPG’s enduring and engaging 10+ year life with the largest expansion yet, including an all-new region double the size of previous expansions, the shapeshifting Berserker mastery, and the new Ascendant mode, which turns the entire campaign into an endgame proving ground that will challenge even the most refined builds.
As players tackle this new chapter and purge the corruption tainting the land of Asterkarn, they will have new options further deepening Grim Dawn’s acclaimed ARPG gameplay. The 10th Mastery, Berserker, delivers a shapeshifting force of destruction that brings the dual-class combination options to a staggering 45, and the new potion customization system gives players a fresh way to mold their builds to their own playstyle. The journey into the land of the Asterkarn will span over 6 square kilometers, which is 190% as big as Ashes of Malmouth and 250% as large as Forgotten Gods, and features new environments that span from snowy peaks to breathtaking hot springs. These new environments are also riddled with secrets to uncover and hundreds of new treasures, such as New Epic items, unique Legendary items, and Monster Infrequents.

Alongside the massive new expansion’s release, Grim Dawn will get a QOL facelift for all players in the free v1.3 update. The biggest addition comes in the form of an overhaul and expansion of the player’s Stash so that players have a more intuitive inventory management experience as they return to their playthroughs or create a new character. Update v1.3 also includes a UI overhaul, WASD accessibility controls, HDR lighting, detailed item tooltips, balancing, and bug fixes.
