From Press Release:
Tripwire Presents, the publishing division of Tripwire Interactive, and independent Turkish developer BEF Games today announced the launch of the free ‘Rise of the Families’ update for their open world action-simulation and management game, The Boss Gangster: Criminal Empire on PC via Steam Early Access. The latest update provides a whole new perspective on open world gameplay with a third-person option while expanding both the territory control system and the number of districts to fight over in Night City, plus a host of other improvements including support for custom radio stations and Steam Achievements.
The ‘Rise of the Families’ content update includes:
- Third Person Mode: Experience open world from a new perspective with Third Person mode, getting an “on the street” view of Night City. Players can swap between the original top-down or new third person views at any time, enjoying different gameplay experiences in each mode. Development of this mode is ongoing with improvements and more in the works.
- Every Crime ‘Business’ Needs an Office: Players can now begin their journey to the head of the family by purchasing an office where they can take on jobs from the locals of Night City. Enhance the space with an Interrogation Room where captured enemy family members can be questioned, ransomed, turned, or eliminated.
- From ‘Business’, to Family: After an office has been established players can form their own family and begin recruiting members. Choose a family name and logo, manage members and select who will become Capos. As the family and their influence grows, so must their territories…
- Fight Rival Families for Control of Night City: Night City has been divided into 11 controllable districts and two new criminal families have also moved in, the Vice Kings operating out of the Pink Flamingo who control the night club scene and the Kurohana Syndicate based in Samurai Toys who oversee all drug operations. Each family will defend their business interests and territory, vigorously and violently.
- Defend the Family’s Turf, Take Theirs: Players can view territories and information from their office hub and begin planning their rise to power. To take over a territory players need to capture all drug sale points and businesses and then spend Prestige, earned by completing office jobs and passively from territory control, to finish their takeover. Take all the territory of a rival family and kill their family members to draw out their own Boss before tracking them down and finishing the job. Players can avoid conflict by completing jobs for other families or paying them off.
- Custom Radio Support and More: Support for custom radio stations using local MP3 files has been added, letting players create their own Night City soundtrack in addition to the existing options. There’s even more customization as players can now customize the outfits of their boss and their capos by visiting clothing stores, and inventory management during store interactions has been improved.
