From Press Release:
Please keep behind the velvet ropes and do not touch the exhibits! The latest early access update for BOXROOM is live right now!
Following the last updates trip into contemporary interior design with the Modern Update, we’re heading somewhere more historic with the Museum Update.
The Museum Update introduces a brand new Museum Catalogue, filled with new items for transforming your BOXROOM into a miniature museum.
What else you say? Well, no respectable museum would be complete without informative labels, so selected items can now be used as custom labels. Simply interact with one and type your own message to provide some useful context for your exhibits. Whether the information you provide is historically accurate is between you and your conscious.
You will now also be able scale items as you place them, giving you greater freedom when creating displays and decorating your room, ceilings are now fully customisable as well using any material type. Museum quality painted ceiling? Beautiful. Carpeted ceiling? We’ll try not to judge.
And that’s not all:
- You are now able to adjust the colour of a games box from the inspection menu.
- You can lie down boxes on shelves by using the free placement mode.
- Added Mod support for custom materials, these materials have no filtering and can be applied to any object that accepts a material change.
- Custom Time of a day is now changed per save file, instead of globally.
Bug Fix Highlights:
- Object Tweener now works with any scaled object.
- You should now be able to have more than 2 screenshots in boxes.
- Added the missing search menu to the CD Boxes.
There’s still more to come for BOXROOM throughout Early Access. Follow the game on Steam or join the community on Discord to keep up with the latest updates, share your rooms and show us the strange and spectacular museums you create.
That brings us to the end of the tour. Please exit through the gift shop…once we’ve built one.
