BORDEAUX, France – Nov. 4, 2026 – Wartales, the medieval open-world tactical RPG with more than a million units sold from developer Shiro Games, takes the vow of chivalry with Knights of Fardensa, its next expansion DLC, launching on PC via Steam on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2026.
Venture to the Renaissance-inspired realm of Fardensa, where political conflict threatens to unseat the powerful Ald Hertogg family from its position of control over the region’s trade and horses. Decide which side to support and act carefully, as every move the Warband makes has ramifications in a clash of powerful estates.
Learn the ways of horsemanship and chivalry in the pursuit of knighthood. Complete challenging trials by summoning a powerful ally to battle and taming legendary horses. Master lances, new weapons, and horse tack. Find new helmets, shields, oils, accessories, recipes, and crafting ingredients.
Take to the field in the expansive and beautiful new Fardensa region, characterized by pastoral landscapes, fertile farmlands, and native herds of wild horses. Guide the Warband through a new two-act campaign and earn the coveted title of Knight!
Along with Knights of Fardensa, Wartales will also receive a free major update unlocking the Horseman Mastery Class for all mercenaries, which allows existing troop compositions to incorporate mounted fighters into their ranks. Breed horses at Trading Posts to combine and improve their inherited traits and develop horses bred for specific tactical roles.
“Mounted combat is something our community has been requesting for quite some time now, and we’re excited to be adding this new layer to Wartales’ turn-based tactical battles,” said Quentin Lapeyre, Game Director at Shiro Games. “With the free update, players can develop any mercenary into a Horseman and add cavalry to their ranks without replacing the characters they’ve developed.”
Wartales – Knights of Fardensa will launch on PC via Steam and GOG for $19.99 | £16.99 | €19.99, with a 10% discount for the first two weeks it’s on sale. The DLC includes English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Korean language support.
