Coming this fall, the Hostage Negotiation Map Pack DLC for Max Payne 3 introduces four new multiplayer maps – all taken from the single player game and fully optimized for online combat – along with a range of new Items and weapons (including the M24 Sniper Rifle and IA2 Assault Rifle) plus the Filhos De Ogum avatar faction.
The four new maps include:
- Club Moderno
- Estádio Do Galatians
- O Palácio Strip Club
- Favela Heights
The pack will be available later this fall for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $9.99 on PlayStation Network and PC and Rockstar Pass owners can download it, and all other future packs, free of charge upon release.

Endless Space Add-On “Rise of the Automatons” is Now on Steam

Iceberg Interactive and developer Amplitude Studios announced today the first free add-on for their ‘4X’ strategy hit ENDLESS SPACE, “Rise of the Automatons,” is now available on Steam.
“We have to thank our community for its help in defining the add-on — GAMES2GETHER’s votes were used to determine half the improvements,” said Amplitude CEO Mathieu Girard. “We really appreciate our players’ devotion and ideas; they’ve given us ammo for many more updates and upgrades beyond this one. They’re numerous, argumentative, and occasionally challenging, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
RISE OF THE AUTOMATONS FEATURES:
- Addition of the new Automatons custom faction (thanks to the community hero ‘Panzer‘)
- GUI changes such as a new Trade Route panel and Empire Management screen
- Upgraded and updated diplomacy and alliance options
- Improved hero management
- Improved AI
- Fixes, amendments and changes

Steam Launches Beyond Games with Software

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first Software titles have launched via Steam, marking a major expansion to the platform known as a leading destination for PC and Mac games.
The Software titles now available via Steam are:
- ArtRage Studio Pro
- CameraBag 2
- GameMaker: Studio
- 3D-Coat
- 3DMark Vantage
- 3DMark 11
Many of the launch titles will take advantage of popular Steamworks features, such as easy installation, automatic updating, and the ability to save your work to your personal Steam Cloud space so your files may travel with you.
GameMaker Studio, for example, features integration with Steam Workshop that allows GameMaker users to share their work via Steam.
To celebrate the launch, all Software titles on Steam will be available for 10% off their regular price throughout the week.

Borderlands 2 Review

A sequel to Borderlands makes a lot of sense given the surprising success it had in 2009, followed by an aggressive and mostly well-received DLC campaign. The formula is simple, take what would be a generic first-person shooter and add RPG and quest elements. Then make the entire loot system all about guns rather than armor and clothing. The result was a frenzy of finding the rarest of weapons with the best properties to share and show to your friends. All of this eclipsed the weak ending of the main story.

Codemasters today launched the first two gameplay videos for GRID 2, the long-awaited sequel to the BAFTA-award winning, critically acclaimed GRID. Revealing races at two of the game’s new locations, Chicago and California Coast, the GRID 2 gameplay videos are captured from pre-alpha, work-in-progress code.

The Chicago video features a Street Racing stage where muscle cars, including the Camaro SS, Z06 Corvette and Boss Mustang, charge through skyscraper-lined streets and chase through tunnels.
