Serious Sam 3: BFE Linux Version Announced (For the Penguins)

Croteam and Devolver Digital announced today that the popular 2011 PC indie shooter hit Serious Sam 3: BFE is under development for a 2012 release for Linux. The Linux version will feature all content up to date for the PC and Mac versions of Serious Sam 3: BFE.
Fork Parker, chief financial officer at Devolver Digital said, “We’re in the process of integrating Steamworks and achievements and the whole shebang, but we can’t get the little fucker of a penguin to stand still.”
Serious Sam 3: BFE is a glorious throwback to the golden age of first-person shooters where men were men, cover was for amateurs and pulling the trigger made things go boom. Serving as a prequel to the original indie sensation, Serious Sam: The First Encounter, Serious Sam 3: BFE takes place during the Earth’s final struggle against Mental’s invading legions of beasts and mercenaries. Robomodo has taken on the insurmountable task of recreating Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. It mostly succeeds at that, but don’t let the name fool you; because it includes skaters, select levels and gameplay mechanics from the first two Tony Hawk games rolled up into one. There is promise of future DLC to include levels and mechanics such as the revert from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 for a mere $5.

From Demiurge Studios comes Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings, the player-versus-player follow-up to its recently released Shoot Many Robots. The new, standalone title Arena Kings is an online deathmatch that pits players against each other in a game of (porcelain) thrones. In “Royal Flush” the Kings must murder each other to collect their crowns, and flush them down a teleporting golden toilet, naturally. New content and updates are being added to the game weekly, based on feedback received directly from players. Don’t just stay tuned to see what happens next – be a part of it!

From the outset, you might think Dyad is some sort of tempest clone, and you’d be wrong. Dyad has a lot more going for it than videos might let on. The ever-evolving gameplay keeps the training wheels on for a few sections. Then slowly and methodically, it removes the screws and one wheel at a time. Soon you’re riding free and performing near flawless sets.
Carrier Command: Gaea Mission beta shifts from P&C to pre-order

After a successful run of more than three months, Bohemia Interactive has announced the discontinuation of the Carrier Command: Gaea Mission Play & Contribute Beta program. The P&C beta – brought to life to aid the development process – will be replaced by a pre-order deal on Monday 30th July. This means people still have one and a half weeks left to seize the heavily discounted € 20 Play & Contribute offer (which includes beta-access anda digital copy of the final game) on Bohemia Interactive’s Store.bistudio.com.
Now that the game is nearing completion, feedback will no longer be necessary. Nevertheless, those who signed up for the P&C program will still able to play the beta.

About the beta-content:
The beta includes a considerable slice of the ‘Strategy Game’ mode. At the start of this mode, players will have to set a few starting parameters, like the number of islands (up to 9 in the beta and 30+ in the full game), the ratio of captured islands, and enemy strength. Then, by conquering and establishing a network of bases for manufacturing, mining and defense, the campaign is pushed forward, with the ultimate goal being to destroy the opposing enemy carrier. The main, story-driven, Gaea Mission campaign – which also features first-person shooter missions, cinematic cutscenes and tutorials – will be present in the full game.

The Sims 3 Supernatural incorporates elements of Plants vs Zombies

Fairies are fickle and magical supernaturals with an innate connection to the natural world. From the start of the game, fairies will naturally appear as human-like creatures with fluttering wings. Through special interactions they will be able to transform into their true form which resembles a glowing insect that is miniscule in size. Fairies can be created in Create A Sim and have a slew of new customization options available that range from choosing the shape and color of their wings to adjusting the pointiness of their ears. Fairies often bestow gifts to others and carry special auras that increase their skills as well as the skills of those around them.
In contrast to lithe and sprightly fairies, The Sims 3 Supernaturalintroduces moaning and roaming zombies to the game. These lumbering creatures have just two things on their mind: brains and grains! As they shuffle through the neighborhood, zombies attempt to nibble on Sims and pick at their well-manicured planter boxes. Not even other supernatural Sims are immune to zombification! A bite from one of these brain-hungry creatures can leave your Sims with temporary or long-lasting effects.
Although zombies cannot be created in Create A Sim, zombification can occur in a variety of different ways, so Sims should be on the lookout for a zombie attack at all times. We don’t want to reveal all those ways just yet, so here’s a quick preview of things to look out for:
1. A Sim can use the alchemy table to brew a zombification elixir and throw it at another Sim
2. Or, a Sim can be bitten by a meandering zombie
If your Sim is hit with zombification, don’t fret—there is a cure. Find all of the correct ingredients to brew an elixir and change them back.
Arm your Sim’s lot with some Plants vs. Zombies Peashooters to prevent zombies on the attack. This new Peashooter object comes included in the Limited Edition version, available to those who pre-order the game. In addition to the Plants vs. Zombies Peashooter, the Limited Edition of The Sims 3 Supernatural includes creepy-chic, iconic apparel from the world of Plants vs. Zombies.
