Wargame AirLand Battle: The Deck System Explained In Video Detail

May 11, 2013

Wargame AirLand Battle, currently in early access multiplayer Beta phase for all players who pre-ordered the game, today tells us about the Deck system in a new video!

With commentary by Alexis Le Dressay, Creative Director of Eugen Systems, this one minute and a half video gives us an overview of the deck system and the possibilities it offers. Players may even already try it for themselves in the current multiplayer Beta!

[youtube=http://youtu.be/w7kFzb7rWhI]

With the Deck system, players can customize but also specialize their armies: they choose, from over 820 realistic units coming from 12 countries, the ones that will compose their army and the available reinforcements during their multiplayer battles. This way, they may create Decks adapted to their preferences and their strategies, or even Decks specifically built to counter the army of their opponent; or, Decks made to efficiently complement their teammates’ armies during team matches!

Creating a specialized Deck allows specialization in specific areas such as airborne attacks, armored assaults, support and supplies, or mobile infantry. An elaborate bonus system allows players to create these decks, as well as “national” Decks, all while giving out exclusive bonuses that more generic decks will not have: higher performance prototype units, access to more reinforcements, or the availability of more units in a particular category.

Thanks to this Deck system, the strategic depth of the game climbs to another level, which is especially true in the new 10 versus 10 mode, which has been made available this week in the Beta!

Wargame Airland Battle is currently under early access Beta phase. The game will be available for PC on May 22nd 2013.

New Watch_Dogs Screenshots Released by Ubisoft

May 10, 2013

In the screenshots, Aiden Pearce connects with Clara Lille, a woman with her own dark past and questionable methods. He uses any and all methods to exact vengeance against his enemies, be it hacking into personal cell phone conversations or using physical threats to get what he wants.

Players will assume the role of Aiden Pearce, a new type of vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, will use his ability to hack into Chicago’s central operating system (ctOS) and control almost every element of the city. Aiden will be able to tap into the city’s omnipresent security cameras, download personal information to locate a target, control systems such as traffic lights or public transportation to stop a chase, and more. The city of Chicago is now the ultimate weapon.

[box_light]Watch_Dogs will be available in North America on November 19 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the WiiU™ system from Nintendo and Windows PC, as well as at the launch of the PlayStation®4 from Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. Second Map by MAXIM for Gears of War: Judgment is ‘Dreadnought’

May 10, 2013

On May 15, download the second MAXIM Map, Dreadnought, available for OverRun players free of charge for a limited time. A brief description of the level is below:

Dreadnought: In the months immediately following Emergence Day, the COG managed to capture some Locust Berserkers.  Thinking that a ship at sea would be safe from an underground enemy, the COG decided to transport their prize to a secure research facility via the CNV Pomeroy.  Little did they know that the Locust had waterborne beasts from the underground rivers of the Hollow, or that the Locust soldiers would use them so relentlessly to rescue the captured Berserkers.  The Pomeroy was corralled into a narrow channel and forced ashore, where the Locust sent a mass of troops to assault and overwhelm the beached vessel.

Sanctum 2 Preview

May 09, 2013

Coffee Stain Studios’ first entry in 2011 with Sanctum was an absolute surprise and interesting twist on tower defense. When in the building phase, you were placing defenses from an overhead view. Then, when in battle, play from the first-person perspective similar to a shooter. The game was supported by a lot of paid DLC, and some free DLC. The co-op multiplayer was fun as well. They’ve been hard at work for a sequel, and have announced a release date.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion “Forbidden Worlds” DLC Warps In June 5th for only $5

May 09, 2013

The popular PC space strategy game, Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion will be getting its first downloadable content on June 5th. “Forbidden Worlds” adds new planet types, planet specialization, technologies, planetary bonuses and additional Steam achievements all for $4.99.

The war between the loyalists and the rebels within the TEC, Advent and Vasari continues within the depths of Trader Space. Yet, this sector of the galaxy has far more worlds and history than any of the factions are aware. The need to survive forces each to expand into the unknown, discovering worlds of hazard, wealth, risk, and mystery. Most ominously, the Trader factions have been loathe to expand to these worlds due to the dark myths that surround them.

Feature List:

  • Four new planet types to colonize and exploit (Barren, Ferrus, Greenhouse, Oceanic), each created with beautiful high-res textures.
  • New Planet Specialization System: Dedicate your worlds to either social or industrial output. Devoting your planet to social improvements will increase its population and culture, at the cost of trade income and ship production. Choosing an industrial path will limit your growth and culture, but make your planet a trading and ship building powerhouse.
  • 15 new research subjects allow the races to conquer and expand onto the forbidden worlds.
  • Discover 40 new planet bonuses during your exploration of the galaxy, unlocking the dark past of the Sins’ universe.
  • Unlock five new Steam Achievements and display your mastery of forbidden space!
  • The Forbidden Worlds DLC will be available direct, as well as on Steam, GameStop, GamersGate and GameFly.

CatLand is up on Kittenstarter…er, Kickstarter for iOS to care for a Virtual Kitty

May 09, 2013

The good news: if you cover the Kickstarter campaign for CatLand, in which developers Lost and Found Games are seeking a measly $15k, you could make this virtual virtual kitty a real virtual kitty.

By checking into real-world locations on the CatLand mobile app/game, you help keep your little pet entertained, engaged and AWAY FROM A SHALLOW GRAVE.

Joking aside, this is like Tamagotchi for the kids of today, as well as any adults who either can’t have pets or wish they could take their cat everywhere they go without looking like a weirdo.

Check the Kickstarter campaign for an intro video and more info. Then, if you don’t mind, spread the love.

Independent video game label Devolver Digital and global conglomerate Zilla Enterprises have announced a strategic partnership to bring sword collection software Blade Analyzer Pro to a worldwide audience via the Steam digital distribution service.
