Bioware has released details on the Mass Effect 3 Demo, including the release date of February 14th (Valentine’s Day, how could you not love that?). Unlike Mass Effect 2, the demo will be out prior to the game’s release and allow you to try many of the game’s features and all platforms are supported.

What content will be included in the Mass Effect 3 demo?
There are two sections in the Mass Effect 3 demo, both included as part of a single download: The single player section includes 2 areas: the opening level featuring the Reaper attack on Earth, and a level further into the game where Shepard travels to an alien home world to seek their assistance in the war effort. This will be approximately 1 to 2 hours of content.The co-op multiplayer section includes 2 maps: Slum and Noveria. This section will be open to players who have qualified for the early multiplayer access as of Feb 14, and will then open up to all players on Feb 17.

We got a fresh batch of screenshots in from Ubisoft today of the upcoming game. Based off the feature film by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, The Adventures of Tintin will be available in North America on December 6th for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, and 3DS.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that Batman: Arkham City, the critically acclaimed and highly anticipated videogame developed by Rocksteady Studios, is now available at retailers in North America for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. The Games for Windows version will be available beginning Nov. 15, 2011.

Finally coming to PlayStation 3 on September 27th is Child of Eden. And now we have the Launch Trailer, which still looks just as great on PS3 as it did on Xbox 360. But I would think the entire experience will even be enhanced further with 3D.

EA Sports released some information about the sales of NHL 12 earlier today. The sales of the NHL series is rarely touted by EA, so this was an odd one for me initially. NHL 12 sold through more than 451,000 copies in it’s first week which brought in a cool $27 Million for EA Sports. While this is not necessarily a massive number for EA (Madden 12 sold over 1.4 million copies in it’s first week), its definitely a good sign for the series. Despite liking the game a lot as a hardcore player of the EA NHL series, I did feel as though for casual gamers at large that the game may have started to look long in the tooth.
Sales were also announced to be up 19% from NHL 11’s first week at retail. One has to wonder how much influence the Season Ticket program played into this, as it did give a chance for a bunch of Madden fans who wouldn’t normally buy the NHL games to try it out. Also, the return of the Winnipeg Jets may have had an impact as it immediately made last year’s game obsolete and may have brought in a whole bunch of new Jets fans to the series.
EA also announced that they are bringing NHL Superstars, a free-to-play card based game in the same vein as Madden NFL Superstars and FIFA Superstars, to Facebook next month.

Ubisoft announced a special partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment offering the first PlayStation®3 players of Assassin’s Creed Revelations an opportunity to relive the beginnings of the epic Assassin’s Creed saga.
In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio traces the footsteps of his predecessor, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad. Now, gamers will be able to go back to the beginning of the Assassin’s Creed storyline as the day one copies of Assassin’s Creed Revelations on PlayStation®3 will include a copy of the original Assassin’s Creed. Which, this makes sense given the size capabilities of a Blu-Ray and ties in more closely with Revelations than being bundled with just Assassin’s Creed II or Brotherhood – however having a two-game gap seems odd, it’s a free game and well worth your time if you jumped in on the AC series late.
Whether being introduced to the award-winning original Assassin’s Creed for the first time or going back to relive the start of the epic journey, players will be drawn into the secret war between Templars and Assassins in ancient Jerusalem. Assassin’s Creed® Revelations will be available on November 15, 2011.
