Democracy 3: Africa announced to be in-development
Democracy 3: Africa is a new stand alone re-working of the BAFTA nominated and top-selling political strategy game Democracy 3 scheduled for release in early 2016. Take charge of one of 10 African countries and implement policies that will overcome the challenges each faces, improve the lives of your citizens and ultimately steer them to prosperity.
Why Africa?
Good question and one which Cliff Harris, owner of Positech Games is best placed to answer:
“Africa has been unrepresented as a setting for videogames but when it has these depictions have often been clichéd and certainly have never touched the real issues that the continent faces, such as malnutrition, poor literacy and access to clean water. Democracy 3: Africa puts these topics front and centre and will challenge players to make tough decisions on issues that we normally only encounter in news reports. So, even if you have successfully led a government in Democracy 3, this new title will make you rethink your priorities and policies.”
Although it builds on the existing game, Democracy 3: Africa will feature completely new artwork and music alongside a new set of dilemmas and events that are tuned to the real world issues and situations that are relevant to Africa.
Developed by Positech Games, Democracy 3: Africa is being designed by Jeff Sheen fromStargazy Studios and will be available early next year for PC, (and more than likely Mac), via Steam, directly from Positech as well as your favourite digital stores.
