KontrolFreek releases first Destiny-themed thumbsticks in the Destiny CQC Signature Edition

Today, KontrolFreek launches the first official performance thumbstick™ for the hit game, Destiny.KontrolFreek Destiny CQC Signature Edition is the first product that KontrolFreek has created in partnership with Bungie, the creators of Destiny.

Emblazoned with the iconic Destiny tricorn logo, the design for Destiny CQC was finalized after extensive research and collaboration between KontrolFreek and Bungie. The companies conducted studies with Destiny developers, players and the KontrolFreek community to craft the ideal thumbsticks for the game. The height, look and feel of the product were purposefully built to aid and accommodate the fast-paced gameplay that Destiny demands.

“Our highest priority was to design a product with KontrolFreek that would be the most effective and beneficial for Destiny players,” said Jim McQuillan, Visual Identity and Brand Creative Director at Bungie.

KontrolFreek’s President and CEO, Ashish Mistry, echoed McQuillan’s sentiments.

“We all wanted to make sure that this was the best possible design for Destiny players, and the result is a whole new thumbstick concept,” said Mistry. “A lot of research and love went into these performance thumbsticks, and they are uniquely crafted for Destiny gameplay. We can’t wait to see how Destiny fans react to them.”

Destiny CQC is a mid-rise (8.0mm) thumbstick that comes in a metallic silver-on-black color scheme. The thumbstick features a hybrid convex/concave thumbpad, developed from the research conducted by Bungie and KontrolFreek. The slightly domed surface is surrounded by an elevated outer rim to decrease slippage during gameplay. Finally, the proprietary, rubber composite thumbpad is accented by soft, triangular external ridges, which emulate tire treads for the utmost control and grip.

KontrolFreek Destiny CQC Signature Edition has a suggested retail price of $17.99, and is available online, in retail stores worldwide and exclusively at GameStop in the U.S.
