From Press Release:
SAN FRANCISCO – JULY 14, 2023 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, announced its groundbreaking online team-based action game Exoprimal™ is now available worldwide. Developed with Capcom’s proprietary RE ENGINE, the brand-new intellectual property pits soldiers clad in futuristic combat armor against countless hordes of ferocious dinosaurs. Exoprimal is out now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation®5 (PS5®), PlayStation®4 (PS4®), and PC via Steam for MRSP $59.99. The game is also available starting today with Xbox Game Pass for console, PC, and Cloud.
Exoprimal begins in 2040, when dinosaurs mysteriously appear across the globe and threaten humanity’s existence. To save the day, the powerful Aibius Corp. calls on its next-generation artificial intelligence, Leviathan. This A.I. can forecast where dinosaur outbreaks will occur and deploy Exofighters to protect the area. These warriors, who wield advanced armor known as Exosuits, represent humanity’s greatest hope. Three years later, an Exofighter patrol unit called the Hammerheads crash-lands on a remote island where Leviathan enlists them as test subjects in a deadly competition.
Leviathan’s wargames unfold in the game’s main mode, Dino Survival. In these combat tests, two squads of five Exofighters race to complete various objectives before their opponents while also battling against swarms of dinosaurs. Dino Survival missions change from one game to the next based on players’ progression through the story. Some matches pit squads against one another, whereas others require rivals to band together to take down major threats like the monstrous Neo T. Rex. Dino Survival also offers the option to select a preference between matches with player-versus-player (PvP), player-versus-environment (PvE), or random final missions.
Choices extend to what armor players can take into the fray. Exoprimal features an arsenal of 10 Exosuits that each possess an array of unique abilities. Divided into Assault, Tank, and Support classes, every Exosuit has a distinct role in tackling the dinosaur threat and assisting their team. Exofighters can also change Exosuits at any time during battle to adapt to the ever-changing situation on the ground. Players can tailor their playstyle with equipment called Rigs, which offer Exosuits additional powers ranging from added offense and defense to increased mobility and healing powers. Modules further enable Exofighters to power-up their Exosuits and customize how they perform in combat.
As players progress through Dino Survival, they will unlock new Exosuits, gear, cosmetic items, and narrative content. The tale of the Hammerheads crew will unfold through story-related missions, cutscenes, and “lost data.” This intel includes audio logs, documents, and more that can be pieced together in the Analysis Map to solve the mystery behind the wargames and dinosaur outbreaks.
Capcom is supporting Exoprimal with robust post-launch updates that add significant new features, starting with a new mode. Savage Gauntlet launches on July 28, 2023 and will introduce a challenging PvE experience with missions that rotate weekly and can be replayed for higher rankings and rewards. Title Update 1 will then arrive on Aug. 17, 2023 with 10 Alpha variant Exosuits that provide new ways to play Dino Survival and Savage Gauntlet. Future title updates will include collaborations with Street Fighter™ 6 and Monster Hunter™, Beta variant Exosuits, new enemies, stages, missions, and more.
An Exoprimal “Deluxe Edition” is also available digitally (MSRP $69.99), which includes the “Head Start Kit” plus “Survival Pass Season 1: Premium Tier” as a limited-time bonus. The Head Start Kit features three more Exosuit skins and early unlock tickets for the Nimbus, Vigilant, and Murasame Exosuits. These Exosuits can also be unlocked through gameplay with the Standard Edition. The Survival Pass rewards players for their in-game progress and has both free and premium tiers. The Season 1 Premium Tier offers 19 extra Exosuit skins, 10 weapons skins, 4 emotes, 3 decals, and more.
