Thronefall celebrates over one million copies sold by adding 12 new game modes
From Press Release:
Thronefall – developed by Grizzly Games, the developers of Islanders and Superflight – has sold over one million copies! The indie hit has also accrued over 18,000 Overwhelmingly Positive (96%) reviews since its initial EA launch back in August 2023.
To celebrate, the minimalist strategy game about defending your little kingdom without unnecessary complexity and with a healthy dose of hack-and-slay is getting 12 new mini modes, among them the highly requested True Endless mode and Reverse Siege mode. It’s also adding multiple quality of life improvements.
Thronefall is out on PC and Nintendo Switch.
About the Game
A strategy game without all the headaches? We’ve got you covered.
Saddle the horses! See your kingdom come to life, fight gripping battles to defend it and still be done in time for lunch.
Thronefall is a classic strategy game without unnecessary complexity, plus some healthy hack-and-slay. Build up your base during the day, and defend it ‘til your last breath at night.
Will you be able to strike the right balance between economy and defence? Do you need more archers, thicker walls or an additional mill? Will you keep the enemies at bay with your longbow or charge your horse right into them? It’s going to be a tough night, but nothing beats seeing the sun rise above your little kingdom to live another day.
This new update for Thronefall includes the addition of two new modes: the most requested post-launch features, True Endless mode and Reverse Siege mode.
True Endless mode:
-
A new mode that can be found in the additional Mini-Modes for Totend (not the same as the Eternal Trials mode).
-
Play and stay on one map (Totend) until your Castle Center is destroyed.
-
Enemy waves are different every time you play.
-
Contains new tier 4 Castle Center upgrades, as well as additional upgrades for some other buildings that are only available in this mode.
Reverse Siege mode:
-
Thronefall, but you’re the attacker.
-
Destroy your opponent’s economic buildings to gain gold, then use the gold to upgrade your troops.
-
Destroy the enemy’s Castle Center to win the ground and gain a massive amount of gold.
-
You cannot regenerate any of your health; if you run out of health, the night is immediately over.
The update also brings multiple quality of life additions: a game-speed hotkey, automatic detection of controller versus keyboard controls, support for some additional controller devices, increased localization (Korean, Italian, Ukrainian, and Czech), color-blindness settings, and bug fixes.
