FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Dec. 2, 2025 – Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms publishing label and Knights Peak, alongside developer Slipgate Ironworks, have released the new “Superior Firepower” update for Tempest Rising, available now on Steam. This is the third major update for the hit RTS game, nominated for Best Sim/Strategy title at The Game Awards, and introduces a devastating superweapon for each playable faction, a global production queue for more efficient battlefield control, and more.
The “Superior Firepower” update releases alongside the new RTS Lineage Bundle on Steam, joining together Tempest Rising and the Command & Conquer™ Remastered Collection for a 10% discount.
In addition, Tempest Rising’s highly anticipated third faction – the sinister Veti – is available to command in the game’s new Veti Faction Multiplayer Test, arriving today on Steam. Players can opt into the “veti_mp_test” branch in the Steam client to experience the Veti’s advanced extraterrestrial forces firsthand in both multiplayer and skirmish game modes until December 15.
Tempest Rising transports you to a battle-scarred 1997 in an alternate timeline where the Cuban Missile Crisis went nuclear. Experience two epic single-player campaigns, as well as ranked multiplayer and skirmish mode, featuring fast, hard-hitting gameplay with classic RTS base building and unique asymmetrical factions.
