London, May 4th, 2026 – Playstack, alongside Deep Field Games, today announced that the Cosmic Companions update for Abiotic Factor is available now as a free update on Steam, and as part of Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus Extra.
An isolated research lab in the Swiss mountains has been receiving, processing, and filtering signals from deep space. But the data suggests something more than passive observation. Through careful sonification, incomprehensible noise is beginning to form patterns, then messages. Something unseen is speaking, and it is waiting for an answer.

Pets 2.0 & System Improvements
A reworked companion system expands how players interact with their otherworldly allies, introducing new behaviors, usability improvements, and deeper integration into survival strategies.
New Chemistry System
The addition of the Distillation Bench and Chemistry Bench unlocks new ways to refine materials and craft potent buffs for both players and weapons, enabling more specialized builds and experimentation.
Wristwatch Upgrades
A new suite of wristwatch modifications provides powerful tactical options in the field:
Decoy Watch: Deploy a holographic projection to distract hostile entities
Stealth Watch: Temporarily render yourself invisible to avoid detection*
Hauling Watch: Dramatically increase carrying capacity for extended expeditions
*Scientific Note: Stealth mode confers optical phase obfuscation only. Endogenous biological emissions, particularly volatile organic compounds generated through routine metabolic or gastrointestinal processes, remain unaffected and may be readily detected via olfactory pathways.
Developer Note: Despite the above being scientifically sound, there is no smell system, no olfactory detection, and nothing in the game is reacting to this. You are safe…for now.
