Battleplan, the innovative RTS game that lets players map out their plans directly on the battlefield, is out now on Steam

From Press Release:

Many players think that battles are won by strength and numbers alone, but without strategy, the win is far and the losses are great.

Victory belongs to those who look at the map and can think beyond the next hill, shaping the course of an entire campaign. Gone are the days when commanders concerned themselves with a single squad, a single tank, or a single firefight. Warfare is fought across vast fronts, through chains of command, over weeks of relentless operations.

Draw battle plans directly onto the map and orchestrate multi-stage offensives. Establish defensive belts, execute fighting withdrawals, coordinate counterattacks, and unleash bombardments. Divide your forces to seize multiple objectives simultaneously, or concentrate overwhelming strength at a decisive point.

Every division is modeled in detail, from headquarters down to individual companies. Infantry, armor, engineers, artillery, reconnaissance units, anti-tank formations, and support elements operate autonomously under the command structure you create. Your officers interpret and execute your intent, adapting to battlefield conditions as the situation evolves. Each mission is simulated second-by-second, allowing you to pause, play in real-time or fast-forward at will. Mission lengths range from one week to a month. Create your strategy, draw, execute.

Demo vs Release

During the February ‘26 Steam Next Fest Battleplan participated with a Demo which was a huge success. Players who downloaded the Battleplan demo had a great time fighting through Normandy, with over 25,000 downloads playing for an average of more than an hour and a half. Developers Foolish Mortals and Publisher Slitherine have collected and implemented feedback from the demo and reports from the Beta.

Several major updates have been made since the demo. The biggest feature-change is the introduction of the new Zone Orders system. This new system allows players to designate areas of operation for your units, and easily transfer troops between zones via a drag and drop interface.

More changes include:

  • Expanded army customization to create and manage customized armies for different scenarios and playstyles
  • In-game codex to review unit roles and army composition
  • UI scaling, improved visual clarity for zone orders, and new icons and officer portraits
  • Improvements to unit AI and the orders tool to minimize friction
  • Scenario difficulty scaling: whether you want a casual experience or a hardcore challenge is up to you

And many more improvements.

Battleplan is out now on Steam, bundled a 10% off with Iron Nest.

Shape the campaign and draw your victory.
