What the barnacles?! SpongeBob Squarepants and Sims bring together fans of all ages who enjoy the pineapple under the sea, including myself, to the game to make rooms look like Sims live in SpongeBob! The Bikini Bottom Bundle consists of SpongeBob’s House Kit and SpongeBob Kids Room Kit. Growing up watching almost only SpongeBob Squarepants, the show has my heart and the pack exceeded expectations.
The SpongeBob’s House Kit includes a pineapple patterned and steel wall side paneling. Each taking inspiration from SpongeBob’s pineapple. For interior walls, there is SpongeBob’s living room and kitchen wall paper. It also includes various colors of sky flowers as the show’s signature sky look. The last wallpaper included has various colors of the Bikini Bottom itself, adding a nostalgic feeling to the Sim’s home. This kit also includes the windows and doors from the show.
Spongebob Kids Room Kit includes beds and stuffed animals featuring characters from the show as well as furniture pieces from the show such as the sofa, single seat and television from SpongeBob’s house and tables and chairs from the Krusty Krab. A wall piece features the fish on the wall in SpongeBob’s house.
Kids get a creative table and toy chest themed as the sky flowers in the show. Two clocks are included in the kit; one being Spongebob’s foghorn which can be used for alarms anytime of the day, and the other just being a wall clock as Gary the Snail. Two types of beds are included in the kit; one being a kids bed featuring characters from the show and the other has sky flowers and a buoy on the headrest.
Kids get a Krusty Krab dollhouse which has the sailboat Squidward sits in while taking orders and tables from the show. There are three different types of stuffed animals of SpongeBob and Patrick, making references to them being cavemen, pirates, jelly-fishing, as well as the seaweed mustaches that remind me of the 2004 SpongeBob Squarepants movie. The last stuffed animal is Sandy Cheeks which can be changed to different outfits of hers. The Kit additionally has the boat Squidward Tentacles sits in while taking orders at the Krusty Krab as a bookcase, with a figure of him at the bottom with books and other references to the show.
Lighting is a jellyfish chandelier to incorporate the jellyfish from the show. There are some wall stickers that embrace the characters of the show, like Plankton, Squidward, Pearl, and others. The kit also incorporates the Flying Dutchman, so it is included for outside play for Sims. The kit also includes a Goofy Goober guitar, also reminding me of the 2004 SpongeBob Squarepants movie. Additionally, there is a fishtank featuring Patrick, Squidward, and SpongeBob’s houses.
Lastly, in creating a Sim, there are clothing options with SpongeBob characters for kids and adults! It includes a t-shirt, pants, and dress, decorated in colors and characters.
Personally, I feel this bundle is amazing. I would have never seen SpongeBob and Sims 4 come together. Now that it has happened, I am astonished. I would have liked to see more of the side characters. There is a lack of Squidward, minus his house and his head in the kid’s bookshelf. I would have liked to see another stuffed animal like SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy. Additionally, a clarinet to symbolize Squidward would have been fun to see, even if it was a decoration. However, the addition of the different eras of SpongeBob and Patrick pull it all together.
Altogether, the bundle is amazing. If you’re not a SpongeBob fan, there is not much here that would make a benefit. Unless, perhaps you like to collect DLCs. I love the detail of each wallpaper and item, adding personality to each house and room. A couple of my favorite items are the dollhouse, featuring the Krusty Krab and the Flying Dutchman sailboat. It is a nice touch for a playground where Sims can play.
