Samobor, Croatia – 21 September 2026 – Pine Studio has released their first major DLC today for Escape Simulator 2, the Apocalypse DLC, taking players into a near-future world devastated by a community chosen catastrophe. The DLC adds four escape rooms, four new Darkest puzzles, and new themed character outfits, challenging players to follow a trail of clues through abandoned infrastructure and discover a place rumored to still hold life… Sanctuary. The Apocalypse DLC is available for £4.99 / €5.99 / $5.99.
The developers also released a free VR mode last week and the DLC is fully available on PC flatscreen and Steam VR.
Civilization has collapsed. Cities have been reclaimed by nature, systems are failing, and the people who came before have left behind fragments of a story. Players will need to search every corner, connect the clues, and make use of whatever remains operational to uncover the path forward.
Four new Escape Rooms on the journey to Sanctuary
- 57th Avenue Station
An abandoned underground station reclaimed by nature. The trains are silent, but the old systems still respond.- Auto Fuel
A deserted roadside station in the middle of nowhere. Lights still flicker, machines still hum, and someone left a way forward.- The Safe House
A lonely desert safe house with patched-together equipment, solar panels, and a signal that may lead to something bigger.- Sanctuary
A sealed underground facility built for survival. If the rumors are true, this is where the trail ends.Across all four of the challenging rooms, players will encounter puzzles and clues built around scavenged technology, broken infrastructure, old warning systems, and the strange logic of a world trying to keep itself running.
The DLC also introduces four new Darkest puzzles, offering an extra challenge for players who want to put their puzzle-solving skills to the test. These optional puzzles are designed to be tougher than the main room challenges and give players another reason to explore every corner of the new environments.
As with Escape Simulator 2’s other escape rooms, players can take on the challenge solo or with friends, working together to investigate their surroundings, uncover clues, and solve the puzzles standing between them and Sanctuary.
