Killing Floor Twisted Christmas…in Space

Dec 13, 2012

This Christmas Tripwire Interactive has a whole new twist on killing the undead playable right now: Zeds in Space! Horzine’s Moonbase is the setting for the new map, on the dark side of the moon. One small step for Zed? Actually, giant leaps for Zedkind, up there in low gravity. You’ll believe Zeds can fly – and they certainly will when you smack them with the new Dwarfs!? Axe. If they are jumping around too much for your tastes, hit them with the stasis field on the Zed Eradication Device, which can be found scattered in pieces around the new Moonbase map. Or just zap them. There is a brand new weapon for the Medics amongst you, too – the Schneidzekk Medic Gun, with a nice high rate of fire AND healing darts. New achievements too, naturally.

As always, you only need to own Killing Floor to play all of this for free from now until 4 January. To use the Dwarfs!? Axe, you just need to earn 40,000 gold in Dwarfs!? Free-to-Play (http://store.steampowered.com/app/213650), or buy/already own the full game  (http://store.steampowered.com/app/35480/).

All your old favorites are back for Twisted Christmas III as well: all the Christmas specimens are back, along with another opportunity to unlock Baddest Santa, for those of you who haven’t had the chance.

On top of all that free stuff, there is also a new weapon pack, for those that like to bling out their armory. There are gold-plated versions of the AK-47, the Combat Shotgun, Katana and the M79 – which even gets its own matching, shiny rounds! And a very special single character pack, in the science fiction theme: Horzine’s Domestic Assistance Robot (DAR, to its friends), cleaning up the cosmos, one specimen at a time!

The new weapons, new map and the whole Twisted Christmas event is now available. Christmas Zeds. A Moonbase map in low gravity.  Baddest Santa is only unlockable during the Twisted Christmas event – so don’t miss out! For more information, take a look at the web page for the event:

Killing Floor is available now on Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/1250/), Direct 2 Drive and other digital outlets, as well as in stores across the world.

Black Knight Sword Review

Dec 13, 2012

Black Knight Sword unleashed by D3 Publisher, Digital Reality, and Grasshopper Manufacture

Dec 12, 2012

Fighting with the strength of many men, The Black Knight must battle through a dark and unusual fairy tale world to rid it of an unexpected evil. Developed by the illuminating and creative Grasshopper Manufacture and co-published by D3Publisher and Digital Reality, Black Knight Sword was created under the direction of famed video game visionary, Suda 51, and is now available for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and on PlayStation®Network for $9.99.

Perfecting the blend of traditional side-scrolling action with a one-of-a-kind bizarre world, Black Knight Sword presents an unprecedented visual style. In this modern and interactive take on a classic fairy tale, Black Knight Sword is a throwback to the 16-bit era with simple, yet addictive gameplay within a stylized hand-drawn puppet theater world. As an intriguing “Interactive Kamishibia” (paper drama), Black Knight Sword unfolds similar to a virtual pop-up book filled with memorable creatures to encounter and addictive challenges to overcome.

Black Knight Sword is Suda 51’s twisted interpretation of the princess fairy tale where, rather than saving the charming princess, The Black Knight must free the world from a dark princess’ reign of terror. Players will solve puzzles and unleash the fury of The Black Knight’s sword, the Black Hellebore. Enchanted with powerful fairy spirits to assist in battle, the Black Hellebore will cause more than a scratch to the treacherous enemies set before The Black Knight.

Duke Nukem is probably the biggest of the baddest of the manliest of gaming characters ever created, and the third part of his adventures–Duke Nukem 3D–is the pinnacle of politically incorrect alien ass-kickery. This award winning FPS helped define the whole genre and foreshadowed many of today’s humor-and-violence-riddled shooters. Today, for the first time in history, it’s fully compatible with Windows 8 and Mac OS X 10.6.8, not to mention that it’s free for the next 48 hours–until 14:59 GMT on December 14 everyone can get Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition, the most complete version of the game, free of any charge from GOG.com.

The first out of 20 Daily Deals features a set of classics from the legendary game developerBullfrog Productions Theme Hospital, Magic Carpet, Populous, Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper, Dungeon Keeper 2, Populous 2, and Populous 3D. All games in this bundle will be 75% off when bought together or when completing ownership of the bindle, or 50% off the individual games if purchased separately. That’s less than $12 for a huge chunk of all-time greatest gaming history for PC and Mac, since the first five listed games are Mac OS X-compatible. Of course, if any users already own some of the games in any of our Daily Deals, they only need to buy the games they’re missing from the bundle to get the full savings.

GOG.com’s holiday sale is the biggest and best yet, and it’s the end to their best year as well. Stay tuned next year for more great classic releases as well as brand new ones, starting in January.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. Xbox 360 players can also get San Andreas from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 1,200 MS Points.

In celebration of the release and to prepare fans to go back to San Andreas, we present “The Introduction” – the original 20-minute prologue video that highlights the action in the days before the story in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas begins. The Introduction is told from various characters’ viewpoints, which are intertwined together to reveal the network of organized crime forces operating throughout the state of San Andreas. Tension builds as threats are carried out, stakes are raised and communication breaks down. In Los Santos, a drive-by shooting in Grove Street Family’s territory ignites a series of events to be further explored in the game.

SIMCITY goes Multicity in New Strategy Trailer

Dec 11, 2012

In October, Maxis debuted the first all-gameplay strategy video where Lead Designer Stone Librande gave you the first look at the inner workings ofSimCity.  You not only learned that roads are the foundation of a successful city, but you also learned the basic infrastructures needed to start growing a city. When Stone left off, he was just beginning to build out a tourism city using casinos. Today he’s back and he’s showing you some advanced strategies for growing his casino city using Multi-city play – one of the crowning achievements in SimCity.

With Multi-city play, you no longer need to provide all the required city infrastructures in one city. Build a police station and share your growing police force with the greater region. Have your friend build a fire station in a neighbouring city and soon you’ll see their fire trucks putting out flames in your city. Just like the world around you, neighbouring cities support each other through shared resources. These are just a few examples of the Multi-city play that you’ll see today in Stone’s gameplay strategy video.

The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles now available for Windows 8 and RT Tablets

Dec 11, 2012

THE FUTURE…is here.  The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles busts forth today on the Windows Store for Windows 8 PCs and RT tablets.  Starring Wiley Wiggins (Dazed and Confused,Waking Life) as Future Buddy and Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger, Tromeo and Juliet) as Doc Lloyd, now you can take on the role of The Stranger and make your way through a sleepy little town where all is not what it seems.

Trouble’s a brewin’ in this little slice of the west, and it’s up to you to send that trouble back to whence it came.  You’ll need to keep your wits keen and your trigger finger ready to decide who warrants swift cowboy justice with a mere tap of the screen or click of the mouse. Timeless characters, elite acting, crafted dialogue, and action-packed action await you.

One would think that a production of such quality would command a steep price, but we’ve got news for you.  Through the magic of digital technology, we’re able to bring this fine production to you for a mere 149 cents (that’s $1.49 American).  Kaufman, an expert in all things low-cost says, “Microsoft never returns my calls about letting me direct a Halo movie in New Jersey.  But Twisted Pixel brought The Wavy Tube Man Chronicles to Windows 8 as a Trojan horse to get my face in front of Steve Ballmer. Steve, call me!”

Sine Mora PS3 is The Version to Own

Dec 10, 2012

This is an update to my existing, and glowing review of Sine Mora for XBLA.

The gorgeous visuals, soft music and sleek UI offer a great presentation. The music is soft and contrasts to the hectic and wild gameplay that tests your patience as well as your skills. Not much has changed in Sine Mora since we last saw it. However, the PSVita, PC, XBLA versions of the game are virtually identical to each other as far as modes go. The Playstation 3 version however, stands out with the new brutally difficult, “Challenge Mode”.
