Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 HD Revert Pack DLC Is Now Available!

Dec 06, 2012

Activision announced today that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 HD Revert Pack, the downloadable content for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, is out now worldwide for Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network for $4.99. It will be live on Steam within a couple days.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 HD Revert Pack
expands on the game’s winning formula with the inclusion of three levels from the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 (Airport, Los Angeles, and Canada). Skateboarding legends Steve Caballero and Geoff Rowley make their return to the world of Tony Hawk games and James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo from Metallica make a surprise appearance as playable characters. The Metallica track “All Nightmare Long” has also been added.  But perhaps most importantly for true fans, the Revert move makes its return for mindblowing combos.  The combination of the Revert and the Manual in these classic levels will mean ludicrous high scores!

Which version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD should you buy?

Sep 23, 2012

Well, first and foremost the answer lies with your own personal preference. If you’re on the fence on this and own more than one platform, this might guide you to see what there is. I found the XBLA and PSN versions to be identical except for the hardware controller layout. Performance and bugs persisted between both versions alongside the wonky physics that occur. The PC version, is a beast all its own. It’s just a matter if you can deal without multiplayer for a lower price and edit settings via an INI file (like I did) to get the best looking, and best performing version in the bunch.

Does price outweigh multiplayer? Do you have a controller preference? I have played all three versions and this is how they stack up against each other. Read the reviews for more detailed comparisons.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD on PC is a huge bummer. The game itself is structurally sound and plays identical to the console versions. But what makes it so different?

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD Review

Jul 24, 2012

Robomodo has taken on the insurmountable task of recreating Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. It mostly succeeds at that, but don’t let the name fool you; because it includes skaters, select levels and gameplay mechanics from the first two Tony Hawk games rolled up into one. There is promise of future DLC to include levels and mechanics such as the revert from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 for a mere $5.

E3 2012: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD

Jun 10, 2012

RoboModo has made a time machine, making the hybrid of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 feel brand new again. It’s Tony Hawk at its finest all while updating the game’s graphics, the controls, and overall feel is accomplished with its soundtrack of old favorites and new classics. Classics are all there, Old School II, Hangar, Mall, and more. Loading times are minimal unless you quit out to the main menu. There’s some noticeable aliasing and muddy textures but framerate never dips.

THPSHD is part of the Summer of Arcade coming later this…summer.
