From Press Release:
NOVEMBER 26, 2019 – Stranglehold, a thrilling action game co-created by the famous Chinese director John Woo, returns to digital distribution on PC today. After years of being lost and unavailable, the game comes back to life thanks to the efforts of GOG.COM and the title’s publisher.
Originally released in 2007, Stranglehold recreates the gun ballet aesthetic of John Woo’s influential action film – Hard Boiled, released in 1992. The movie stars Chow Yun-fat, who also reprises his iconic role of inspector “Tequila” Yuen in the game. Thanks to its fast-paced gameplay, unique features like destroyable levels, and the cinematic story, Stranglehold received a cult following over the years. It’s no surprise that many gamers still remember this title fondly and have long waited for its return.
The game is being published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and like with all releases on GOG.COM, it was updated to work on modern PCs and is available DRM-free. You can get it now for only 9.99 USD / 9.45 EUR / 8.09 GBP.
This is another big gaming come-back on GOG.COM. This year alone, the DRM-free platform has brought back the original Diablo, Warcraft I & II Bundle, shooter XIII, the first three entries in the Warlords turn-based strategy series, and many other classic titles.
