Goosebumps Dead of Night gets spookier with the “Extreme Mode” update, playable now

Los Angeles – October 1st, 2021 | ScholasticSony Pictures Consumer Products, and indie game developer Cosmic Forces are ready to unleash new horrifying gameplay into the hit title Goosebumps Dead of Night. Inspired by R.L. Stine’s best-selling Goosebumps book franchise, the update will be free to all game owners and brings the much-requested Extreme Mode into the game. Players will find challenges aplenty with supercharged monster AI, new achievements to chase, and much, much more. The Extreme Mode update will be launching today, October 1st, 2021 in order to provide fantastic thrills and chills just in time for the Halloween season.

Extreme Mode offers players new ways to engage with Goosebumps Dead of Night. Here are just some of the frighteningly exciting new features players can expect:

  • Prove your skills by collecting the “Extreme Frights” achievement
  • Supercharged monster AI adds a persistent sense of danger around every corner
  • Challenge yourself with intense new boss battle mechanics
  • Tune your awareness with unexpected hidden page locations
  • Test your mind and reflexes with enhanced puzzles in every level
  • Perfect your aim and wits with unforgiving Gummy Bears and Witches
  • Sneak, Flee, and Fight, your way through Slappy’s new extreme challenge

All this comes alongside the new enhanced HD Graphics, additional chapters like Dr. Brewer’s twisted Conservatory and the menacing Tesla Tower, an expanded Stine House with more puzzles, five terrifying new monsters with improved AI, and more. The game also features HD Rumble functionality, touchscreen support and gyroscopic controls on Nintendo Switch.

Goosebumps Dead of Night builds on the spooky stealth gameplay of the hit mobile VR game Goosebumps Night of Scares with new enhanced HD Graphics, additional chapters like Dr. Brewer’s twisted Conservatory and the menacing Tesla Tower, an expanded Stine House with more puzzles, five terrifying new monsters with improved AI, and more.
