January 30, 2025 – Gather all ye faithful, and repent – Hooded Horse and Mohawk Games have announced a new DLC for the popular historical strategy game Old World – Wrath of Gods. Lead the faithful and cower in the face of capricious deities through new map mechanics, a new scenario, a new faction, and more! Old World – Wrath of Gods will be coming to Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store on March 3, 2025.
Headlining the new DLC is the eponymous Wrath of Gods scenario, where players must lead their nation while heeding the ever-increasing (and conflicting) demands of their nation’s pantheon. It will be impossible to keep every deity happy, so some will end up unleashing one of nine new calamities onto the player’s lands, while others will bestow blessings. Calamities work in the base game as well (but without the gods metagame) and come with new visual and environmental effects, such as heavy flooding that can change land tiles into water or certain disasters that change the resources a tile offers.
Players can also take charge of the new playable nation of Aksum, hailing historically from Northeast Africa. Aksum comes with five dynasties headed by legendary figures from the nation’s past. Aksum also gets two unique units, nation-specific events, and more.
The expansion also comes with a smattering of general content as well, such as a new map script called “The Tumbling Mountain,” which spawns an impassable mountain range that separates players for a specified time before crumbling into navigable terrain. In other news, Old World is celebrating 300,000 sales since its release in 2022.
Old World – Wrath of Gods will release for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Game Store on March 3, 2025.
