Train Sim World 7, the latest train sim from Dovetail Games leaves the station today for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox

From Press Release:

15th September, Kent, UK – Today, UK-based publisher and developer Dovetail Games launches Train Sim World 7, the biggest entry to the Train Sim World series and its most approachable for newcomers yet! Players can expect brand new highly-requested routes, locomotives and modes of play. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|SPC, and playable via Steam Deck!

As revealed in the Opening Night Live pre-show and detailed in Dovetail Direct, Train Sim World 7 marks a new era for the franchise. Launching today across Standard, Deluxe and Ultimate editions are routes across the quaint English countryside, verdant Bavarian mountainscapes, and the sun-drenched state of Florida (route availability dependent on edition, please see below visual for more information).

Cruise through the Airedale & Wharfedale Network on the Northern BR Class 331, and 333 EMU, or race through the Bahnstrecke Nürnberg – Würzburg route at speeds of up to 265km/h in the ICE 4 EMU, or the DB BR CLASS 440 and 412. If you’re looking for even more heat, take the BL36-PH or Tri-Rail GP49H-3 Loco through the Sunshine State on Florida’s Tri-Rail, Train Sim World’s first foray into Florida!

Across all editions comes with brand new gameplay modes and controls, including:

  • Freight Hauler mode – Take control of powerful freight trains, locate and transport different types of cargo across your favourite routes, with your performance scored on how quickly and efficiently you complete each job.

  • Live Weather mode – bring what’s happening live in the route’s location straight into game, for the ultimate immersion. Experience real Miami sun from your driver’s window, or the grey skies of England from anywhere in the world.

  • Pick up and Play – players can now use Beginner controls to jump in and operate their favourite trains on Timetable and Free Roam modes. Sit back, enjoy the views, and coast along the tracks using only your accelerator and brake – no need to set up the train!

That’s not all! There’s a coachload of even more features, with graphical updates (via an EPIC mode graphic update for PC), faster loading times, Steam Deck playable, new conductor settings, and further QOL improvements adding to the player experience!

Train Sim World 7 brings the franchise’s most ambitious roadmap yet! First of their kind international routes in Japan, Romania and Portugal, as well as a return to the Netherlands. Alongside this, the sought-after ECML King’s Cross Route will be coming soon in upcoming add-ons!

“Train Sim World 7 represents a huge step forward for the series,” said Rob O’Farrell, Co-CEO at Dovetail Games. “We’ve brought together some of the most requested routes and trains from our community, while introducing new features and improvements designed to make the experience more approachable than ever for new players. Whether you’re stepping into the cab for the first time or you’ve been with Train Sim World for years, there’s more to discover, more ways to play, and an exciting roadmap of new experiences still to come.”

A Free Starter Pack is also now available for those looking to try Train Sim World 7 for the first time! The Free Starter Pack gives players access to the Training Center, and in-game tools such as Free Roam and Livery Designer.

Players can use the Free Starter Edition to try out a whole host of locomotives in the Training Center before they buy a full Edition, or upgrade from a previous version of Train Sim World, bringing their whole Add-on collection with them.
