WARSAW, Poland – [September 16, 2024] – Get ready to swing, smack, and score in SPORTAL, the upcoming sport-themed first-person shooter from indie developer Sleepwalking Potatoes and publisher Retrovibe. Blending fast-paced FPS mechanics with sports action, SPORTAL hurls players into a portal where vintage sports gear becomes deadly weapons. Armed with baseball bats, hockey sticks, lacrosse nets, and more, players will strike, launch, and slam numerous balls into hordes of classic 1950s-style movie monsters in this one-of-a-kind FPS roguelike set in an 50s America.
Enter SPORTAL’s world, each with its numerous movie-themed settings, and take down hordes of monstrous creatures using sporting equipment in ways that are definitely not safe for them. Whether it’s spiked baseballs, explosive golf balls, lightning-infused hockey pucks or razor wire bowling balls, every piece of gear is a weapon waiting to be unleashed. And the further you progress, the more powerful upgrades you can collect to refine the monster-smashing arsenal.
As players uncover the mystery of their surreal situation, they’ll discover clues as to why a trip to the cinema turned into a portal-jumping, monster-fighting adventure.
