Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion brings a climactic end to the ten-year Light and Darkness saga, marking the final confrontation with The Witness, and for many, this was going to be an emotional end, good or bad. But the moment you step through the portal carved by The Witness into The Traveler, there is a sense of urgency and desperation. Can your Guardian handle it all? As the culmination of a decade-long journey, it carries the weight of many memorable moments and high expectations. The emotional stakes are high, and the question on everyone’s mind is whether The Final Shape delivers a fitting conclusion to this epic saga.
“To infinity and beyond!” is precisely what I think every time I see the name of Destiny 2’s latest add-on, Lightfall. Not only is it close enough in name, but that logo is taking some hard inspiration from Lightyear. In their defense, I’m positive it’s a style synonymous with the 80’s sci-fi future; I just can’t put a name to it. But in Bungie’s latest expansion to their popular looter-shooter, they took that 80’s inspired sci-fi aesthetic and ran with it. Along with the look, they introduced major gameplay tweaks, an exciting new subclass, and fresh Exotic gear. But that campaign, well, it’s lacking on the story front.
