Agent 47 is back, and as the old cliché goes, it’s personal. You’re assigned to extinguish Agent 47’s long time contact at “The Agency”, Diana, as she’s turned rogue. She’s done kidnapped a teenage girl of some importance to The Agency. Before you get into the game though, you’ll find that every time you load the game, you’re met with the intro video and your choice of doing the story or contracts. Having to skip that video every time is annoying enough but then you have the girl saying some sort of monologue when Story is highlighted and another voice over when Contracts is highlighted; every time. There doesn’t seem to be a way to skip this but if I’m missing something please someone tell me. It’s more of just a nitpick and annoyance than anything, but just let me access the Main Menu without being assaulted by voice overs, already.
So I boot up Forza Horizon today to download the new December IGN pack. Going into the Autoshow I found a few cars not mentioned in any of the current DLC for the game. When trying to purchase those cars though, I’m given an error saying that this is exclusive content and can not be purchased at this time.
After playing the original Scribblenauts on the DS, it felt like there was a lot of potential there. It was neat to be able to type just about any word and have it appear on screen. Scribblenauts Unlimited is no different except that it has masterfully executed the core concepts from the original DS title. This time around our rooster hat wearing hero, Maxwell, gets a back story. As it turns out, Maxwell is actually one of 43 kids. He receives a magic notebook that lets him create anything he writes, while his only sister, Lily, has the ability to travel anywhere in the world. After upsetting an old man, a curse is placed on Lily and it’s up to Maxwell to save his sister.
Looks like Nintendo has another hot 3DS bundle for the holidays, this time they are packing Mario Kart 7, Pre-Installed, into a blue/black 3DS XL. The handheld will be available come December 2nd and retail for $199.99 which is saving your wallet 40 smackers. This sound like something right up my alley, I like blue, I like Mario Kart, and I need to replace a standard 3DS with an XL. $$$

REDMOND, Wash.– Mario Kart fans are getting a limited-edition bundle to help keep their engines revving through the holidays. On Dec. 2, Nintendo is offering a Blue/Black Nintendo 3DS XL with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed on the system for a suggested retail price of $199.99. If purchased separately, the system and the game would be offered at suggested retail prices of $199.99 and $39.99 respectively, making this another great Nintendo value for holiday shoppers.
The portable Nintendo 3DS XL system offers two screens that are 90 percent larger than the original Nintendo 3DS and let owners see even more amazing 3D details. Owners can watch their karts zoom across the track in 3D without the need for special glasses. The system also includes the Nintendo eShop, a one-stop shop for downloadable new games, Virtual Console games, free game demos and full downloadable versions of retail games. Users can also enjoy augmented-reality features and Nintendo Video, a channel filled with free one-of-a-kind 3D videos.
Mario Kart 7 lets karts race through the air and under the sea for the first time. On big jumps, karts deploy a wing to help them glide over the track. When karts dive underwater, a propeller pops out to help the kart cruise across the sea floor. Players can customize their vehicles further to enhance their driving style or play to certain types of terrain and even race as their own Mii characters. Multiple courses challenge players to race for the checkered flag.

Nintendo will be visiting malls nationwide so that families will be able to get hands-on time with various Nintendo games and hardware during the holiday shopping season. The visitors will be able to play games for the 3DS and the brand spanking new Wii U. Early visitors will even receive a coupon for a discount on 3DS games at GameStop. Their first stop will be at the Queens Center Mall in New York from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2. Kids and shoppers will be able to meet the lovable Italian plumber and take pictures with him. The kids can even let him know what they wish for this holiday season. My suggestion would be something Nintendo related to make his mustache twinkle.
On Nov. 30 from 7 to 9 p.m., Nintendo will close the event to the public so they can host a private experience for select “Littles” from Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and their parents, where attendees will have a special opportunity to try out the new Nintendo games and meet Mario.
Location: 9015 Queens Blvd. New York, NY 11373 *Located near Customer Service on the 2nd floor

What better way to work off that stuffed turkey with some shopping! Nintendo is here to help you out with it’s newest 3DS bundle. In the box you get a Flame Red 3DS with Super Mario 3D Land pre-installed. You’ll find this superstar bundle at various retail locations on Black Friday for the suggested price of $169.99. I would have liked to see that bundled with a 3DS XL but hey, can’t be choosy on Black Friday right? If you don’t have a 3DS yet, this is quite the bargin with them including the stellar Super Mario 3d Land.
Nintendo is giving early holiday shoppers a way to knock two items off their lists at once. Starting Nov. 23, a limited-edition version of the Flame Red Nintendo 3DS will come with Super Mario 3D Land pre-installed on the system. The bundle is offered at a suggested retail price of $169.99, providing an incredible value for holiday shoppers. Since it launched, the Nintendo 3DS family of systems has sold nearly 6 million in the United States alone. The portable dual-screen system lets users see 3D images without the use of special glasses, while providing them with a wide variety of gaming and entertainment options. People can explore and purchase additional games in the Nintendo eShop, or watch the fun and funny 3D videos on Nintendo Video.
Super Mario 3D Land reinvents everything fans love about Mario gaming with the first platforming environment in true 3D. Players will experience an exhilarating new sense of depth, distance and speed while running, jumping and stomping on enemies throughout the levels. Mario can also use the tail of his Tanooki suit to swipe at enemies or float down from heights.
NASCAR fans rejoice as Eutechnyx has made, quite possibly, the best console NASCAR title to date. The game has a fully fleshed out career mode, an online mode that brings all the fun of side by side racing with friends, and the new Challenge mode which takes real world telemetry data to let you relive key highlights from past seasons. Unfortunately I have to throw a caution out for things like the opponent AI.
Here I am at a Walmart at 10p and eerily enough I’m the only one in line for the Wii U. From what the employee told me, out of the whole shipment they received, all but 7 were pre ordered. Technically they are on layaway through Walmart’s layaway program but same difference.
I was also at the Wii launch back in 2006 and was actually in line at 6pm and was #8. I feel as if the mainstream media blitz just wasn’t as strong this time around which could be why it’s such a dim turnout this late. But you also have to take into account that Walmart didn’t do pre orders or layaway during the Wii’s launch either. It’s possible more people took advantage of the pre ordering this time around leaving me to be the lone dummy.
Of course this is just one store in a small beach town so who knows how the launch is going elsewhere.
I’ll be sure update if anyone else shows up and look for my initial impressions tonight or tomorrow.
There’s a lot going for Pid but unfortunately, it’s not enough to overcome its frustrations. It’s the story of a little boy, far from home, stranded in an unfamiliar world inhabited by kind hearted robots and vicious machines.
Day One of this mysterious game from Peter Molyneax’s 22 Cans development studio and there is already lots of this mysterious block chipped away. According to the game rules, players can not progress to the next layer until the previous layer has totally been removed. Once removed players can work on the next.
Dear Journal,
My date with Bayonetta was, to say the least, strange. It turns out she’s a badass, overly sexual witch who’s quite confident in herself. She’s crazy and so is her game direction. All her action is over the top and the enemy designs are just as out there. There is a story going on here but hell if I know what’s happening. From what she’s told me, it has something to do with Bayonetta being a witch, forgetting her past, long legs, British accents, boobs, and ass. With her memory lost she becomes sort of a hit-woman for, what I can gasp, is the Devil. Don’t hold me to any of this if I’m wrong because I was having a hell of a time keeping up with the story at all.
If you play Tryst, your memory of it will more than likely be similar to mine; a real-time strategy (RTS) game set in a science fiction setting. The warring factions between humans and aliens and is about as generic as an RTS can get. It’s basically based on the traditional StarCraft model so if you’ve played StarCraft, and at this point who hasn’t, you’ll be very familiar with how the game plays. Unlike the leader in RTS, the story is bland, the difficulty is inconsistent, and the multiplayer is nothing exciting. You’ll enjoy the game for the first few plays but it gives way to being something very frustrating and boring.
Like standard fare platforming titles, Fractured Soul has you running, jumping, and shooting enemies on your way through the vast amount of levels. The actual platforming isn’t too difficult early on and the placement of enemies and obstacles keep these early levels fresh. Although, do expect a challenge as you progress as they start tossing everything, including the kitchen sink, at you. Add into the mix that you only have 5 bars of health and falling in a pit takes you to the most recent checkpoint and this becomes a challenge. Speaking of starting over, the checkpointing is well done and I commend Endgame for making the respawn spots relatively close to where you died. That saved my sanity so many times.
