After over a month of beta testing, Nordic Games is proud to announce the release of the Red Faction: Guerrilla Steam Edition. Apart from the obvious (i.e. removing the GfWL component), the game experienced an extensive overhaul.

Getting Games for Windows Live to work with Windows 8

When I upgraded to Windows 8, I had issues upon starting known Games for Windows LIVE games, the overlay would not start. Therefore, effectively locking me out of my games by not being able to access my (online) profile. The game saves were still on my system that I copied over, but due to some incompatibilities with GFWL and Windows 8, would not allow me to play them.

In a continued effort to support the game with fresh content and improvements, Monolith Productions has delivered several game fixes, as well as a brand new “East End” map, a new “Bounty Hunter” mode, and more character voice customization.  Players can find the free update in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, the PlayStation Network, and the Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace. If you own Gotham City Imposters on Steam, and you have automatic updates on – your game is already up-to-date with the new content.

Downloadable content will also be available for purchase beginning today for Xbox 360 and will follow for PS3 and PC.

Ms. Splosion Man coming to PC and Mobile!

Twisted Pixel announced today that their award winning title, Ms. Splosion Man, is in development for Steam, Games For Windows LIVE, Windows Phone 7, iPhone and iPad.  Transporting the plucky pink heroine is no easy task, so Twisted Pixel has teamed up with Iron Galaxy, Fire Hose and Panic Button studios.

“We are extremely excited to work with Twisted Pixel in bringing splosions to mobile devices,” says Iron Galaxy C.E.Bro, Dave Lang.  “Ms. Splosion Man has really deep gameplay that is born from deceptively simple controls, so it’s a great game on any platform.”

The PC version will include 50 single player levels, 50 co-op levels for up to four players locally or online, ghost replays, achievements, unlockables like ‘2 Girls 1 Controller Mode’, and more.  The iPhone and iPad versions will be a unique experience built specifically for those devices with familiar content but all new features, objectives and gameplay modes, brought to you by a new version of the BEARD engine that takes utmost advantage of the latest and greatest hardware to make the game look stunning.

Gotham City Imposters FREE DLC Out Today

Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced that a free downloadable content pack for Gotham City Impostors is available now in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.  The content will be available for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC in the near future.

The DLC pack will include:

· Matchmaking Fixes: Numerous additional fixes to matchmaking have been made, including join-in-progress functionality!

· New Maps, Weapons, Gadgets and More: The 25th Floor map, the Kingmaker and Falcon Blade weapons, the Toxic Gas Support Item, and a new Fun Fact are all available right now!

Batman: Arkham City gets an updated PC release date

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today confirmed that the Games for Windows PC version of Batman: Arkham City will be available in North America beginning November 22, in Australia beginning November 23, in France and Benelux beginning November 24, and in other European territories beginning November 25.

Stana Katic of ABC’s Castle Confirmed to Voice Talia al Ghul in Batman: Arkham City

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment confirmed at Comic Con International 2011 that Stana Katic, star of ABC’s popular series Castle, will voice the character of Talia al Ghul in Batman: Arkham City.  The game will be available in North America beginning Oct.18, 2011, for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Games for Windows PC and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

“Talia is such a complex character and it was great to voice her in Batman: Arkham City,” said Katic regarding her role in the game.  “I was amazed at all the detail put into the project and it’s great to see how excited the fans are about the game.”

The Penguin comes to Arkham City

Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, AKA – The Penguin, is continuing his shady business dealing within Arkham City, bringing chaos and corruption to the dark alleys and foreboding corridors of the sprawling cityscape.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today released the new trailer for Batman: Arkham City showcasing the scheming villain in his role as the black market racketeer of Arkham. The foul fiend brings his criminal and financial genius, hand-to-hand expertise, treacherous toys and his feathered friends into the walled streets of Arkham City, with the sole aspiration of ridding the world of the Dark Knight.

That eyepiece doesn’t look like a simple monocle any longer, more cybernetic looking this time around.
