Super Black Bass 3D Review

Apr 03, 2013

Out of few of us here who review games, I was probably the most qualified to put some time into Super Black Bass 3D. Forget the fact I’m pretty much the only one with a 3DS, but I’ve played and enjoyed a variety of fishing games throughout my years of gaming; anyone remember Trophy Bass by Sierra? So I was actually excited to try my hand at a handheld fishing game for the 3DS; I sat there thinking of all the interesting things a developer could do on a powerful system like the 3DS; the gyroscope, the touch screen, the 3D, and yes of course the graphics. Once I powered on the system, I was in awe at what I saw. After I noticed the amount of street passes I received, I inserted Super Black Bass 3D into the 3DS.

Fractured Soul Review

Sep 17, 2012

Like standard fare platforming titles, Fractured Soul has you running, jumping, and shooting enemies on your way through the vast amount of levels. The actual platforming isn’t too difficult early on and the placement of enemies and obstacles keep these early levels fresh.  Although, do expect a challenge as you progress as they start tossing everything, including the kitchen sink, at you.  Add into the mix that you only have 5 bars of health and falling in a pit takes you to the most recent checkpoint and this becomes a challenge.  Speaking of starting over, the checkpointing is well done and I commend Endgame for making the respawn spots relatively close to where you died. That saved my sanity so many times.

Men in Black: Alien Crisis Review

Sep 11, 2012

Remember the good old days, paying $6 to see the summer blockbuster then getting excited to play the video game adaptation; sitting in the car on the way home hoping that it would explain what happened in that movie?  Remember when you couldn’t wait to run inside and rip open the package, smelling that new game smell and getting psyched to enjoy the fun you’re about to have? Then after a few hours of sitting on your couch, you finish the game in all it’s pre-movie story, fully immersed in the world getting a great gaming? Yeah me either. Lucky us, Men In Black: Alien Crisis brings back all those “glorious” days when a movie tie-in game was plain useless.

E3 2012: SpyHunter

Jun 09, 2012

I played a little of this on the PS Vita and looks and plays like previous games on PS2/Xbox. You have four weapons at your disposal including oil slicks, rockets, cluster bombs, and flamethrowers. It’s light on story and physics but plays well and is fun to pick up and play, but I’m unsure of its longevity over time.

This is coming to Nintendo 3DS as well.
