Remember the good old days, paying $6 to see the summer blockbuster then getting excited to play the video game adaptation; sitting in the car on the way home hoping that it would explain what happened in that movie? Remember when you couldn’t wait to run inside and rip open the package, smelling that new game smell and getting psyched to enjoy the fun you’re about to have? Then after a few hours of sitting on your couch, you finish the game in all it’s pre-movie story, fully immersed in the world getting a great gaming? Yeah me either. Lucky us, Men In Black: Alien Crisis brings back all those “glorious” days when a movie tie-in game was plain useless.
NASCAR fans have spoken, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. narrowly defeated Kasey Kahne in the final round of voting in the “Drive for the Cover” campaign. Earnhardt, nine-time most popular driver, will adorn the cover of the upcoming NASCAR The Game: Inside Line video game, scheduled to be released on Nov. 6.
“We are excited for Dale Earnhardt Jr. to be featured on the cover of the new NASCAR The Game: Inside Line” said Blake Davidson, vice president of licensing & consumer products at NASCAR. “For a campaign that was driven entirely through social media, the more than 775,000 votes cast in the “Drive for the Cover” campaign is a testament to the impact that the NASCAR industry and its fans have across these platforms.”

The other week I broke down and purchased the $99 Mega Pack at Best Buy and I’ll admit this is starting to become an addiction. I just spent $35 at Gamestop picking up an adventure pack of 3 to get the last two elementals we needed (Air and Life). We also picked up two extra figures that we wanted while we were there.
The game itself isn’t the hardest or most complex thing around but it’s fun. I spent most of my morning today leveling up my Chop Chop (skeleton dude) to a level 8 and completing all the side objectives in the first couple levels. I warn anyone thinking of picking up this game, it will hit you hard in the wallet because like me, you will want to collect them all and right now they are almost impossible to find in individual packs. I was calling around to stores Wednesday hoping someone had a shipment come in that day. Lucky me was browsing the Gamestop website and saw they had some at the local store so after a call down there it turned out they had the ones we needed.
I’ll have a more in depth review at a later date, but for right now, I’m enjoying my time as a Portal Master in the world of Skyland.
