Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios today released the first new additional single player content for Homefront®: The Revolution.
After being closed by Crytek and sold to Deep Silver, the studio formerly known as Free Radical was reborn as Dambuster Studios, with most of the original staff in-tact. Free Radical is mostly known for the TimeSplitters series, and as an easter egg inside Homefront: The Revolution, the first two levels of TimeSplitters 2 are playable.
The sequel to 2011’s Homefront is finally here after four years of development by the studio now known as Dambuster Studios. While Homefront: The Revolution is not directly connected to people and places of the original game, it resides in the fictional future in which The North Koreans are settled in with their occupation of America. This is something that’s far-fetched and unlikely to occur, but is nonetheless entertaining of an idea. Taking place in Philadelphia, you’re placed in the middle of a group getting ready to begin a revolution that takes you all over the city to liberate zones to gain the support of the denizens. What better place to regain independence than from the city that birthed it.
Deep Silver today unveiled the Homefront®: The Revolution Goliath Edition, a strictly limited collector edition available soon for pre-order and packed with exclusive content for fans in North America. Homefront: The Revolution, developed by UK-based Dambuster Studios, throws players into an alternate near-future dystopia where a humanitarian crisis has brought the U.S. to its knees under the brutal military control of a globally dominant Korean corporation. Surveillance drones, armored patrols and police violence have become every-day life in Philadelphia, the once proud birthplace of American independence. However, in the ruined outskirts of the city, resistance is getting stronger.
Deep Silver unveiled the new logo and website today for its latest AAA in-house development team Deep Silver Dambuster Studios and set out their vision for the makers of upcoming open-world FPS, Homefront: The Revolution.
Today, Koch Media together with its publishing label Deep Silver announces that it has acquired the Homefront® brand and all coherent assets from Crytek. This includes Homefront: The Revolution which was previously announced on June 2nd, 2014. The development will be continued in newly founded, Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.
