Omerta – City of Gangsters DLC explores The Japanese Incentive in December

Irish mobsters, Ku-Klux-Klan racists, a mysterious business man from the far-east and a beautiful Japanese woman – it’s time for another episode in the life of The Boss! Kalypso Media is thrilled to announce that ‘The Japanese Incentive’, the new expansion for the acclaimed gangster themed strategy game Omerta – City of Gangsters, will be available on Windows PC via digital download on December 5th for $19.99/£14.99/€19.99. ‘The Japanese Incentive’ will also be available on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in early 2014.

Omerta – City of Gangsters Xbox 360 Demo and Upcoming Fixes

Haemimont, the developers of Omerta, have been listening to community feedback, and are currently working on a significant update that’ll hit within 4-8 weeks. I definitely found some faults with my time with the game in our review.
Upcoming Fixes:
  • New maps for multiplayer and sandbox modes
  • Enemy gangs for Sandbox Mode – you’ll now have to fend of gangs that invade your turf and try to steal businesses out from under you
  • Customizable game settings and goals for sandbox games
  • Economy overview panel for current businesses with their efficiency, profit, ect.
  • Visual representation of individual business types on the strategic map via icons
  • Additional difficulty setting and “Iron Man” option (saving progress in strategic mode disabled)
  • Massive overhaul of cover mechanics in turn-based combat
  • Introduction of multiplayer chat and several other minor fixes/changes

Haemimont Games, the veteran developer behind the great paradisal dictactor-simulator series, Tropico, is back. This time with a crime syndicate simulation, that features turn-based combat. It all sounds like a Gangster’s XCOM paradise, but sadly some issues hold this game back from it’s true potential, and is more like a St. Valentine’s Day Massacre, on your wallet.

Omerta – City of Gangsters is coming to Mac

Kalypso Media USA is pleased to announce today that Omerta – City of Gangsters, their unique 1920’s-era gangster-themed game for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft  and Windows PC, is now also slated for release on the Mac platform. Kalypso will release Omerta – City of Gangsters for Xbox 360 and Windows PC on February 12, and is targeting an early 2013 release on the Mac App Store. Omerta, from the team behindTropico 3 and Tropico 4, mixes conquest-styled strategic play with tactical combat. Included in the release of Omerta, there will now be cross-platform multiplayer play between Windows PC and Mac, along with full support for Steam Cloud Saves on both platforms.

Kalypso Media today released a new gameplay trailer for Omerta – City of Gangsters, the upcoming multiplatform title that combines challenging tactical combat with “criminal-styled” city building. In the new trailer, viewers will enjoy a firsthand look at the tactical, turn-based combat that will have players planning elaborate heists, drive-by’s and much more in this 1920’s era gangster title set for a 2013 release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.  With guns blazing, players will take over a realistically rendered Prohibition-era Atlantic City while also using their wits to manage illicit businesses, which bring in big money!
