Fire and Water don’t mix, and each can be deadly all its own. But in Orcs Must Die! 2’s DLC, they are a lethal combination requiring you to think of new ways to put down these new Orc elementals, because after all – they must die.
The experience itself is quite short, but the introduction of new Water and Fire elementals actually brings a whole new challenge to Orcs Must Die! 2. Before this, there would be simple, squishy orcs you’re used to decimating. Introduced in OMD!2 were the rock elementals that after initial destruction, would split into two smaller beings to fully put down.
Water elementals bring the same type of tactics, but in reverse. If two water elementals are killed near each other, they will combine into a unified enemy that must be killed all over again. Fire elementals are huge, hulking lava-based creatures that when initially destroyed break off into four smaller fire beings that must be extinguished. They move fast and can engulf you in flames and eventually earn you a death and loss of points if you’re not careful like me.
With this new DLC, makes it it’s own mode called “Fire & Water” which includes 3 new defensible levels. They are more or less similar to other levels seen in the base game, but feel a lot more vertically, but restrict enemy movement to narrow corridors to do massive damage if you can slow them
The Fire & Water Booster Pack is just that, it’s a booster to existing content and not a huge breadth of content. But will provide about an hour of orc slaying. There’s nothing wrong with the content, it’s entertaining and introduces new enemies for new tactics. More content for Orcs Must Die! 2 is very much a good thing. Buy it!
