The German RPG, “The Dark Eye” is popular, it even has more games sold than Dungeons & Dragons. There’s an abundance of lore to pull from, and in the intro cinematic for the game does nothing but douse you in it, hoping you’ll soak it in like a sponge. But does this cult-hit translate well for Demonicon to be a popular RPG franchise? Almost.
There’s something special about having overview of a map, and taking the time to decide how you’re best going to defend it. In the case of Defense Technica, you have all of five seconds to figure it out before the enemy starts flooding the area.
I thank every one of you for reading this introductory text. This means you somehow don’t have the Season Pass, or maybe you do, and you want to see if your $10 was well spent for the first of two pieces of DLC. You shouldn’t worry, but read on anyway.
Once you got past the horrendous and out-of-place intro song, Bionic Dues treats you to a delightful and difficult experience that I’ve rarely had with a game of this type before: nonstop fun. Bionic Dues calls itself a “roguelite”, which is saying that it’s actually approachable, there’s an ending, and it’s safe to die – you just have to revert to an earlier save to give it another go.
On October 8th, Kalypso Media held an event with the press to take a look at The Dark Eye: Demonicon from developer, Noumena. This was a hands-off demo as they played the game for us and showed specific sections. The game was mostly referred to as Demonicon, as I will for the rest of the preview.
Gamepires’ Gas Guzzlers has finally hit Steam, with full Steamworks integration and full controller support. You may remember my review of Gas Guzzlers Combat Carnage last year. This is essentially a repackaged version of that game.
Reviewing the contents of the Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition, I wondered if you could spend less than $59.99 for it. I used the Steam Store page for Borderlands 2 to determine cost and value, and break down items individually. There are some pieces of content that simply don’t have value.
Despite the generic-sounding name, Shadow Warrior is actually a reimagining and reboot of the 1997 classic from 3DRealms, which came after the release of the mega-hit, Duke Nukem 3D. This Shadow Warrior, coincidentally, follows the release of the mega-dud, Duke Nukem Forever. The good news, is that Shadow Warrior stops following Duke Nukem at this point.
It’s easier to think of Train Simulator as more of a platform, rather than a new game that releases annually like Madden or Call of Duty. Gladly, new players for this year’s update are in for the most user-friendly and least intimidating version to date.
Outlast’s title is suggestive that you should come back to the game, and try to beat your previous play session. And that is quite a lot to ask of you, as you’ll be frequently wanting to stop, not sure of what’s behind the next door. Red Barrels, a new developer comprised of a “super group” of developers from Ubisoft, EA, THQ, and Microsoft have made one of the most visceral, immersive, and genuinely terrifying games that does everything it can to ensure you are never comfortable standing in one place for too long.
While not a direct sequel, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs is more thematically connected to 2010’s Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Frictional Games has handed the lantern over to ‘Dear Esther’ creators, The Chinese Room. It is unfortunate that during the transfer, the tension was a bit lost on the developers.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was originally released onto the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 almost a full three years ago. Konami has finally released the game to PC for you to return to, or enjoy for the first time.
Sam Fisher’s voice actor changed for the series’ sixth installment, and so has the gameplay. For the better. Catering to fans of old and new, allowing for multiple playstyles. Blacklist ups the threat the only way Tom Clancy can.
Back in June 2013, during Sony’s E3 Press Conference, Jack Tretton stood on stage and stated that DRIVECLUB would be available to PlayStation+ members for free.
Notably there was some hesitation to be excited as it wasn’t just DRIVECLUB, but rather “DRIVECLUB PS Plus Edition”. Would include more features, less features, the same but a clever name?
So I reached out to Sony to find out what those differences were, this is what they had to say:
The PS Plus version is the same game as the Digital download as well as the BluRay Disc. It will just have fewer cars and fewer tracks, although gamers will have the ability to upgrade to the full version with all tracks and cars
