Robots and Pencils, together with First Star Software, Inc. and Warner Bros. announced today that the landmark hit “Spy vs Spy” is now available for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, featuring the famous Black and White spies from DC Entertainment’s MAD Magazine with online and local multiplayer matches, 16 new embassies (plus the original 8), and a pixel perfect retro mode as well as a modern mode. “Spy vs Spy” is just $1.99 on the iTunes App Store.
Based on the original “Spy vs Spy” game, the iOS title brings back all the humor, action and fisticuffs that made the original an all-time, multi-million-unit-selling hit. This modern update takes the original gameplay as designed, developed, and published by First Star Software in 1984 for the Apple II, Atari 400/800 and Commodore 64, and adds HD visuals; support of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Apple’s GameCenter as well as four remixes of the original music and many other new features.

After shenanigans and capers a-plenty, Robots and Pencils, together with First Star Software, Inc. and Warner Bros. announced today that the landmark hit “Spy vs Spy” will be sneaking onto iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads this summer featuring the Black and White spies from DC Entertainment’s MAD Magazine.
Many outlets received a mysterious message which showed a new image for the Spy vs Spy game coming from Robots & Pencils.
I have been able to decode the above message thanks to the Old Fulton NY Post Cards which had the key (and also is just the alphabet backwards). It reads as follows:
“WHITE AND BLACK SPIES RESURFACE -(STOP)- IPAD -(STOP)- IPHONE -(STOP)
– IPOD TOUCH-(STOP) – ONLINE TWO PLAYERS -(STOP)- THIS SUMMER -(STOP)
– THIS MESSAGE WILL SELF DESTRUCT IN FIVE SECONDS -(STOP)”

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment today announced that a new update for the Batman: Arkham City Lockdown App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch is available now. The app is now optimized for the new iPad and features improved game resolution (2048 x 1536), visual effects and details; enhanced user interface elements; and updated hi-resolution wallpapers. The update also includes an original level featuring two new foes – Poison Ivy and Robin, and the Boss missions have been updated to include four brand new Challenge missions.
Those who download the update can also enjoy three different DC Comics that can now be read in the Comixology Viewer that has been implemented into the app. They can also purchase the Batman Year One skin.
The new level introduces a brand new style of gameplay that has players taking cover as Poison Ivy takes control of the Gotham City police force and turns them into her unwilling henchmen. The new style of gameplay will have Batman facing off against a formidable opponent – Robin.

Back in February, we hinted at a possible RedLynx title for iOS. Well it turns out to be true! And looks very exciting. Trailer at the bottom.
1000 Heroz, an original game for iPhone and iPad. With a unique mixture of platforming and racing, the game offers you something new to discover every day – for 1000 days.
Every 24 hours, you will take control of a new hero and embark on a treasure hunt through history. In total, there will be 1000 heroes to guide, 1000 levels to explore and 1000 relics to gather. The previous levels remain playable, and you can go through them to gather gold and relics for your Hall of Records.
“We’ve designed 1000 Heroz to last for a thousand days, so whether you play every day or play only occasionally, there’s always something new for you,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Creative Director of RedLynx. “It’s a new idea, where you can get your daily dose of Heroz right from the start.”
In addition to finding relics, you can also take part in daily time-based challenges. Each level will have its own Leader Boards, so there will be intense competition every single day. You can also create a Custom League to challenge your friends.
“1000 Heroz has some of the physics-based timing of Trials with the jumping of a Mario-type game,” Ilvessuo said. “Your character really runs with their feet. It’s a blast to play every day.”
Originally teased as a mysterious game that lasts a thousand days, a new trailer has been released showing actual gameplay footage on RedLynx TV. You can also follow @1000Heroz on Twitter for updates.
1000 Heroz is currently slated for an April release. The iPhone version will be priced at $0.99, and the iPad version will launch at $1.99.
- A New Adventure Every Day for 1000 Days
- Explore 1000 Levels, Guide 1000 Heroes, Gather 1000 Relics
