Tembo is an unlikely hero, but makes for an impressive debut from Pokemon developer, Game Freak. With SEGA as the publisher of this game, comparisons with the Sonic series and Tembo are not far off, but there’s a unique twist here with a game all its own. While there are a few problems with Tembo the Badass Elephant, there’s way more to enjoy than not.
The Prototype Biohazard Bundle‘s release was a stealthy one, save for a few pieces of leaked information here and there, it just kind of appeared, and now it’s here for all to consume. Activision was careful with their wording not to say that this was a “Remaster”, because it isn’t. After playing it, I came to the realization that this is a weird form of paid backwards compatibility. It makes you wonder why you should bother, and in most cases you shouldn’t.
Playing Dungeons & Dragons takes a lot of setup, time, and patience, especially for a Dungeon Master. So what are you to do if you aren’t able to rustle up your friends, but still want to play D&D? Guild of Dungeoneering is the answer to that. As you play solo, a dungeon run can go incredibly quick or slow, and be in your favor, or against it. The invisible dice rolls that take place leave too much up to chance, but the result is a game that lets you feel like you’re assembling a dungeon as if you were wording it yourself, and doesn’t need any pesky social interactions to enjoy.
The balance of finding an affordable, fast, and high capacity hard drive seems impossible. Seagate may have the answer in what they call, a Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD), now in its 3rd generation. Given its name, the drive is designed for small laptops. Though I’ve found that it will work perfectly fine in PCs, and will even fit PlayStation 4s an alternative means to get better performance at a fraction of the cost of an actual SSD.
We haven’t seen a new PGA TOUR game since Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 back in 2013. Since then, new consoles have come out and licensing deals have expired. So now, EA Tiburon is back after some time off with a new cover star and new name: Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR. The golf game found here is strong; however, the young golfer’s name and credibility do little to elevate what is a no doubt disappointing first entry on this generation of consoles.
Set before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum, comes an adventure featuring Batgirl before her incident that left her paralyzed and forced to become Oracle. Batgirl: A Matter of Family takes place on a confined island that has Gotham City looming in the distance, not all that unlike Arkham Asylum. Though, what gadgets you start with in A Matter of Family, is what you end with. Lasting only an hour and some change, the short time spent playing as Batgirl goes by too quickly for it to be a meaningful add-on, and is a shame for being Batgirl’s debut in Rocksteady’s series.
God Of War III Remastered is an updated version of the 2010 PlayStation 3 classic. It tells the final chapter of Kratos’ tale, and serves as the book-end to a fantastic trilogy. This remaster isn’t as breathtaking as The Last Of Us was, but it has a discernible bump in fidelity that shows it belongs in the pantheon of other great PS3 titles that would otherwise be forgotten too soon.
“I am vengeance. I am the night. I am tired of the Batmobile.” – These are words not spoken by the Dark Knight, but by me. The Batmobile isn’t the most egregious thing to ever grace a videogame, but Batman: Arkham Knight leans heavily on the usage of it. Though not everything to do with the Batmobile is bad, just the sequences that require the tank mode. Beyond that, gliding or driving through the entirety of Gotham City is an exhilarating and exciting take on this making you really feel like Batman.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt feels like a series that’s ending too soon, as now all three major platforms are now finally capable of playing a game of this magnitude, scale, and beauty are only being seen at the end of Geralt’s story. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the best action-adventure RPG I’ve ever played. It is a vast improvement over its predecessors not only visually, but in terms of accessibility and approachability. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one that which we will fondly call, a “classic”.
Hatred was first revealed back in October 2014, raising some serious concerns of a game that would pit you as the villain of the story, going on a murderous rampage killing innocent people. The game was even given an Adult Only rating by the ESRB, and after playing through the game, I can’t find anything that actually warrants the rating. The violence and gore of Hatred is certainly the least of the problems I have with it, though.
If you know me, you know I hate games that make me frustrated. Typically that’s resevered for games that become so difficult that it takes me out of the world and instantly I lose any enjoyment. Then there are difficult games that can still be hard and frustrating but keep me engaged. A recent example of this being the Dark Souls series. Even with endless deaths and angry glares aimed at my TV screen, I can pin point my frustration of failure at my hands, not at bad design. There has been only one other game so far this year that has invoked that same sense of frustration, but kept me coming back for more like I was its, um, well let’s not go there.
The Dyatlov Pass incident is one of the world’s most unexplained occurrences in our known history. In February of 1959, nine experienced hikers found themselves accidentally off-course on the Kholat Syakhl mountain, and all mysteriously died. Soviet authorities have said that it was caused by an “unknown compelling force”. To this day, there is no actual explanation as to what happened in the Ural Mountains, only speculation and assumptions. It is often said that some things are better off unexplained, and in the case of Kholat, it proves to be true.
Even though BADLAND originally released on iOS back in 2013, the “Game of The Year Edition” comes never-too-late in 2015. While this is the first time it is coming to PC and consoles, and it is no less impressive than it was years ago.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III doesn’t release until November 6th, but KontrolFreek has already made a Black Ops III branded FPS Freek stick in preparation for this year’s Call of Duty. And while you don’t have to love Call of Duty or even first-person shooters to appreciate the benefits of these sticks, it would be better if you did due to their aesthetic and branding.
I’ve heard the praises of V-MODA headsets, but never anything I went out of my way to learn about, and I’ve been missing out. The clarity and absolute sound quality that the V-MODA Crossfade M-100 delivers is unreal, it’s like I’ve begun hearing for the first time after putting them on. It quickly begins to make sense why it is the #1 rated brand on Amazon in the U.S.
