Destiny: Rise of Iron Review

Nov 15, 2016

Like its sister expansions before it, Rise of Iron follows the same path of focusing on a side story in the Destiny universe, further expanding the narrative surrounding the base game.

NASCAR Heat: Evolution Review

Oct 28, 2016

Back in the early 2000’s there were two main forces when it came to Stock Car Auto Racing video games, Papyrus’ NASCAR Racing series and EA’s yearly NASCAR titles. Monster Games lit a fire in the genre with NASCAR Heat and cemented itself as a name to be reckoned with. I remember the original titles leaning more “arcadey” than the semi-sim of EA’s titles and the full-sim of Papyrus’, giving those who just wanted fast cars and lots of passing something they could easily sit down and play. Now Monster Games have returned with Dusenberry Martin Racing to reignite that spark with NASCAR Heat: Evolution.

Tenda AC9 Dual-Band Gigabit WiFi Router Review

Sep 27, 2016

Tenda Technology Inc.’s AC9 router is in the market of being powerful yet affordable. With an MSRP of $69.99 and a back-of-the-box quote of 1200 Mbps over Wi-Fi, Tenda’s offering sure sounds like it hits that sweet spot. After switching out my old Netgear N600, the AC9 fully surpassed my expectations.

Overcooked Review

Aug 25, 2016

Overcooked is a game that seemingly came out of nowhere. I had heard very little of it up until a week or two before its release. The videos don’t do the game justice though, it is a genuine treat.

Kerbal Space Program (PS4) Review

Aug 15, 2016

I’ve never really dabbled in Early Access games before, Kerbal Space Program was the exception. The thought of running my own space exploration center just seemed too good to pass up. I put in a few hours into the PC version and had some fun trying to make it to the Mun, unfortunately most of my attempts were unsuccessful. The dream died after a while and on the back burner it went until I heard that they were porting the game to consoles. Suddenly my interest had piqued, Kerbal on a platform I play 95% of the time? Too good to be true I said. I was right, the final release on PlayStation 4 suffers from performance issues and bugs that quickly put a damper on the game.

Prison Architect: Console Edition Review

Jun 28, 2016

Prison Architect has been kicking around awhile in alpha form since 2012 on PC. A successful crowdfunding campaign later and the game finally saw release late last year. I had enjoyed my time with this prison management simulator back in the alpha but would the the fun management and easy to navigate controls of a mouse and keyboard translate well to the PlayStation 4?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan Review

Jun 15, 2016

If there is one cartoon series that has had an impact the most with, and I hate using this term, millennials, it would be The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle (TMNT) Series. From ages 5 – 35, the Turtles have been a pop culture icon since their debut at Mirage comics in 1984. The Turtles have had four successful movies, three separate hit cartoon series, two Michael Bay adaptations, one awful live action TV show, and a slew of video games. The Turtles have had a ton of hit video games and a few misses through the years and you’re here to find out if their latest game from Platinum Games and Activision, Mutants in Manhattan, is in that top tier of Turtle games.

Forza Motorsport 6 NASCAR Expansion Review

May 26, 2016

As Saving Content’s official unofficial full time NASCAR correspondent, it’s only fitting that I be the one to review the NASCAR expansion pack for Forza Motorsport 6. With years of NASCAR racers played under my belt and over a decade of fandom of the sport, I can safely say that this expansion is a good time and true to the sport.

Salt and Sanctuary Review

Apr 11, 2016

Salt and Sanctuary is 2D Dark Souls. Let’s get that out of the way right off the bat. There’s really no getting around it, Salt and Sanctuary is inspired, immensely, by the Souls series. Although, Salt and Sanctuary has its Ska Studios signature art to stand out in a sea growing of Souls like games. In the end, it’s solid, it’s fun, and it’s a great 2D translation of Souls series.

The Deadly Tower of Monsters Review

Jan 27, 2016

The Deadly Tower of Monsters answers the question you all didn’t know you wanted answered, “what if you could play though a movie with director’s commentary in real time?” Well, ACE Team has made that possible with The Deadly Tower of Monsters, a game set around a low budget 50s sci-fi film. Thankfully, unlike most campy low budget films, The Deadly Tower of Monsters is quite good.

Amplitude Review

Jan 05, 2016

After a very successful Kickstarter campaign last year, Harmonix has finally delivered on their new version of Amplitude. Unlike it’s plastic instrumented siblings, Amplitude just requires you and a Dualshock 4 to make sweet sweet dance/techno/electronica together (full disclosure I’m no good at naming music genres).

Ed Acosta’s Top 10 Games of 2015

Dec 29, 2015

Having a license plate read “TIHSHO” is pretty cool thing when you read it backwards. What’s also cool, is how many videogames came out in 2015, so picking only 10 games out of entire year of great games is no easy task. Here’s what Ed found to be the best of the year.

Guitar Hero Live Review

Nov 06, 2015

When I hear Guitar Hero, I always think back to my college days. I was the only person in my circle of friends who had the game and two of the guitars. People rocked out at my place and I was always asked to bring Guitar Hero to other people’s homes; everyone wanted to play with the controller. It was something new, something strange, but most of all something fun. But for me, as much as the game was fun, it was also quite an experience getting to show people the new guitar controller. It will be a while before something will recapture those same feelings of newness, but Guitar Hero Live comes close.

Halo 5: Guardians Review

Oct 26, 2015

In life there are a few things that are absolute. Water is wet, time never stops, and there will be a Halo on an Xbox. Not that this is a bad thing however; Halo has always been Microsoft’s pride and joy on the Xbox consoles and good care is taken on each one. Even the less than stellar games like Spartan Assault or Halo Wars are created with love for the franchise. So it’ll be no surprise when I tell you that 343 have done an exceptional job with Halo 5: Guardians.

TRANSFORMERS: Devastation Review

Oct 22, 2015

They did it, they finally did it. After years and years of screaming how much we wanted a good Transformers game, let alone a Generation One game, Hasbro and Activision finally threw us a bone. They gave Platinum Games the duties of design and what was crafted is something truly amazing
